• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Have you checked out the Deadwood Rally website lately?

Been watching the weather and it looks like it's going to hold around the low 80s with a morning start of the 60s. Not bad riding weather especially if one gets out early then enjoy the rally crowd later in the afternoon. We sold our house last November and just bought another one but the moving will just have to wait till we get back . Looking forward to making some new friends .

Yeah it's been cooler and wetter then normal so far this summer. Makes for everything being green instead of brown. Hopefully the weather pattern holds. One thing about the Hills it can be 100 here in Rapid City and only 70's or 80's in the Hills.

Is is there a picture of this somewhere so I know what to look for?

You decided against full-time RV'ing then?

We will be RV'ing about 9 months out of the year, I just wanted a place to store the rest of out plunder and wanted a place close to our son and his family. We bought into a Manufactured Home Park, 55 and older so when we're gone there is someone to keep an eye on the place. If my wife can't handle the RV lifestyle we will have a place set up.
The place we bought has a 50' slab next to the house for our 5th wheel for storage and a 2 car garage. I've been on the road for the last 25 years but she retired 3 years ago and I want to make sure she can handle the Nomad lifestyle.

Spicewood (TX) to Deadwood (SD) starts tomorrow for me. Will be glad to meet some SL's.

Maybe an impromptu SL's gathering for those that go?

I'll be taking a bunch of Milky Way Spyder pictures, and think it would be cool to have a group of them in the shot.

We will be out the door in a few minutes; coming from New Hampshire.
See you all soon!

Deadwood.

My wife and I randomly picked this week to go to deadwood because we didn't want to go during the sturgis rally. Low and behold turns out to be a 3 wheeler rally the week we are going.
We are only catching the later half as we are not going out until thursday, but looking forward to seeing all the fellow Spyder Riders there. Hope to make some new friends.
I did get an appointment with "Tattoo your Ryde" to have some custom work done. Really Looking forward to it.

What a great idea,I think that would be fun to participate in. Hope to meet you there. Anybody who is familier with the area have any ideas as to a meeting place?

As if there aren't enough things to do and see here in the Hills, the SpyderLovers that enjoy old time Country Western music have a treat available. The Historic Lead Opera House has monthly Black Hills Opry shows and it fall on July 14. Great music by Aces and Eights and they always have to guest artists as well. If you enjoy Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and the like this is a great show and the Lead Opera House is being restored to it's glory days. We don't miss it.

We are at spearfish koa. Been here a few days already. Hopefully see some of you that get in early. Wife is on a yellow rss.

Saw a few Spyders on our ride today in the Hills. Looks like some are already rolling in for the Rally. Enjoy your time here.

Grrrrrrrr

Saw lots of Spyders while working in Sturgis today! Several westbound on I 90 from Rapid.
Wife and I are all excited to get to the Deadwood rally. Butttt this weekend my 2016 F3 Limited went on limp mode. I made it to our dealer in Dickinson ND Platnium motors There mechanic Clay was nice enough to hook up the computer my crank sensor was bad. We were leaving tomorrow after work to head down. They overnighted the part but in ND that means two days. I have my fingers crossed. I told my wife she may have to head down without me and I well catch up when I can. I don’t want to miss any fun. I well see you all soon asI can.

Lots of people here now. It was a toasty one riding today. Just a simple loop to Hill City today, and of course checking out a bunch of small shops (The Mrs has to see them all I think) Yesterday we walked around Deadwood and didn't ride much. Gonna hit Needles, and Iron Mtn Rd tomorrow, and Spearfish Canyon of course.....It's supposed to cool down as the week goes on. It was 95 today, supposed t be 82 tomorrow, and down to 70 by Sunday.

If you signed up for “ride with a local” and haven’t signed in yet, make sure and do so ASAP. We are going to limit the size of groups to around 18 and there are only 10 groups. We will be back at the table again after we return from riding Devils Tower tomorrow. Really enjoyed meeting people today.
