• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Belt Tension

I just purchased a 2017 F3L, pictures to come, and I have a question on the belt tension. Since the 2017 F3L has the same sprocket as the RT should the tension be the same? The tension is a lot tighter than my RT. For my own peace of mind I have been checking most everything, tire pressures, oil level, etc. With the wheel on the ground my RT reads 160-180lbs with a cricket. The F3 is reading 260-280 on the ground. I don't seem to be getting any vibration until maybe 70mph so maybe I should leave it alone. But I have also read some posts about front sprocket failures. I will have to reread these posts but I think is caused by too much tension. Thanks Wayne

Wayne, that is a very high number. Many ryders have dropped that down substatially (160-180 ish on the ground) with a Vibration Damper and had great success and no vibration. And I agree that less side load on the splines of the front sprocket cannot hurt.

My suggestion would be to return to the dealer and have them adjust the belt tension to wear it should be. They should have special equipment fo r that. Seems way too high!

Thanks Doc. I have your Vibration Damper on my RT and just ordered one for the F3.

I bought this from iMotorsports and had it delivered so returning is not an option. I would hope and assume that everything has been checked and to spec. Anyone know what the tension spec is? I would assume it is the same as the RT.

As soon as I get Doc's Vibration Damper I will play around with the tension. Changing the tension is easy but getting the belt aligned is a real PITA.
