• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thinner passenger backrest pad

Has anyone found an alternative pad for the backrest on the RT? Our friends bought a 2017 RTL late last year and he would like more room when his wife is riding along. He's not a member on here yet so I said I'd ask the Spyder gurus of a possible source of a thinner back pad.

I've had mine off numerous times ...... and it's not very thick ..... because of what it supprts it doesn't have to be to be comfortable ...... have you ever sat in a chair with a contoured back, pretty comfortable .... and that has NO padding at all.............. I think He can take off the backrest and then let Her try it without the backrest ... She can see if this is an option ..... then possibly re-move the padding and Stretch it over the plastic form and re-staple ..... Mike

My friend Dave took both our RT passenger pad covers off and shaved the padding down mostly on the sides to widen out..There is not much in the middle. Wife says it's a big improvement.

I removed all the padding from the passenger backrest on my RT. It helped a little. As others have said though there is very little padding on the actual backrest, it is thicker on the sides.
