• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2018 rt trailer tumbler

The extra tumbler usually comes with the Spyder, not the trailer!! That's cos the extra tumbler is meant to be keyed alike to the Spyder, so that you don't need to carry around yet another key for your 622 trailer..... :dontknow:

The extra tumbler was included on all the new Spyders I checked out here in Aus last weekend - well, all those that have the rectangular rear swing arms & are 'approved for towing', but not on the F3's with the tubular rear swing arms (like the Daytona....) - I suspect that's just cos you aren't meant to tow with the Daytona so it's not really all that 'necessary'?!? :lecturef_smilie:

I just got a new 2018 RTL and it was missing the extra tumbler. I was just curious if the other people that bought a 2018 got the extra tumbler

Tumbler

The tumbler doe's not come with the 2018 spyder rt limited . You can't get a factory CB with it either . For communication you have to go with a Sena20 S so says the can am shop . Trying to figure out all the electronics is a reel chore . meerkat

What's a tumbler? What does it have to do with trailers?

I'm hoping BRP isn't really in with Sena and that all other BT headsets are not an option? Even Sena knows that CBs are still very much in use as they make adapters for Goldwing and Harleys that have CBs. The Goldwing with Apple Car Play will have a CB and wonder why BRP thinks differently.

:hun::dontknow: Thought all that went away when they stopped making the 622. As I understand the lock on freedom trailer is not changeable, different mechanism for the only door. I could be wrong, I was only interested in a 622 & couldn't get till the freedom came along & Joe was kind enough to part with the one he farkled so well:yes::cheers:THX again!

It won't work on the freedom trailer

Cruzr Joe

So i just found out. The extra tumbler (lock) that came with the 2017 RT-S is longer than the one on the freedom trailer, also the one on the freedom trailer has the end of the tumbler mushroomed around the locking bar, so you can't take it off.

Has anyone been able to get it out, or re-keyed to match the bike??

Let's see if I got this correct. I buy this: Can-Am Spyder Roadster RT-622 Trailer Locking Key Barrel Kit Lockset 219400710 Take the barrel to a locksmith and have him change it to my bike key, and then follow the instructions in the video. Am I missing anything?
YA that is for the discontinued 622 trailer not the freedom trailers with different latch systems & only 1 door. Won’t work freedom trailers get own key for the keyring your ignition key does not have a hole for:dontknow::barf::banghead:

I was told by a BRP employee that CBs are not a big thing in Canada so they stopped making the entertainment wiring on the 2018 models and discontinued the CB also. Their CBs were not much good anyway. The CB on my GW is MUCH better and I do miss it on Mr. White. I think BRP is missing a $1,000 sale.
