• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I TRIED THIS AND IT WORKED WONDERS for me

Sadly Passed Oct 2024 - RIP
A little history - I'm almost 71. .... about a year ago I noticed my entire body was beginning to ache most of the time ... The kind of ache you feel after doing strenuous activity .... Since I'm pretty active I didn't think much about it ..... How ever I recently had the opportunity to ease off the really physical strenuous stuff ..... But my body still Ached.... My Doctor suggested I try " Glucosamine " .... I bought some 1500mg tablets ( the HCI type ) and it has 1500mg MSM added ( I don't know if this makes a difference ) at Costco..... Well after one week, I actually felt less achy !.... ( mind over matter ???? ) ...... but now after a month, my aches really have diminished quite a bit .....not gone completely , but definitely improved...This stuff is over-the-counter so you don't need to get a Dr. to approve it..... It wasn't expensive ( .05 per tab ) ...... Do some research and maybe this will diminish any achiness you feel ........ Mike

Great idea Mike. My wife suffers from Lyme disease and has been taking the Glucosamine with Condroitin. It helps a lot. She has heard of veterinarians recommending it for dogs that suffer from joint pain. Apparently the stuff really does help for joint pain (not muscle pain).

My daughter started taking that after she blew her knee out playing soccer (she was a goalie). It really did help her with her recovery, and she still takes it.

Yup, we give our senior dogs glucosamine / condroiton supplements. They seem to do a lot better on walks and activity. As a result of my motorcycle accident I have issues with the cartilage in my ankle, and glucosamine helps make the joint aches go away. (And it's a legal alternative to CBD for pain management). +1 on the costco bulk size!

Been taking it for years glucosamine/condroitan and still plenty active and walk 3 miles every day without fail,Im in my 80th year.

With an old back surgery and a n old ankle surgery, I take it too. It does seem to help the joints a bit. Not completely pain free of course, but the mornings are a bit easier. I take it at night...not sure if that makes any difference, but I don't want anything interfering with my morning meds

With all my arthritic problems and crones disease. I recently found Apple Cidar Vinegar helped me a lot not sure if it will help others to.

Tastes like crap but mix cap fulls with your favorite drink and it gets rid of that bitter taste.

It does take more than a week to feel the results.

Just wanted to add my magic potion to the mix along with Mike's

I use the Braggs brand and is highly rated by others

Been taking it regularly since I was in the hospital for almost a week with severe arthritis. I could barely move anything.

It works on keeping the joints mostly pain free--and is not a narcotic. I have not had any oxy since the hip surgery a year ago now.

Add Fish Oil with both Omega 3 - EPA and Omega 3 - DHA in it and you should be able to remove the rest of the aches. It is what I am on at the behest of my sports physician and what finally got rid of the rest of the aches after years of being on Glucosamine/Chondroitin only...

I pretty much find what the Mayo Clinic has to say to be interesting. They are pretty neutral on this.

The new thing today is CBD oil or hemp oil
Getting ready to try some. Orthopedic surgeon wants to replace both hips:shocked:

Well of course he does. That's how he makes money!

Inevitable Pete filled with arthritis and pushing joint forward. When they ache i can hardly walk have to stop. Has effected my quality of life. They gave me a script that does help but not long term.

Been doing this for about four years. Wondered if it really helped so I quit for about a month . I couldn't get over the difference it really does make.....at least for me.

My sweet wife had her right hip replaced 12 years ago. Irreversible damage caused by Lyme disease made it a no-brainer (after suffering with it for over 3 years). Now she doesn't even have to think about it. The right doctor and the right device are key to a successful outcome and speedy recovery. Do the research online before you select the doctor. It doesn't cost any more to go with one that has a proven record of success and they are NOT all the same!

I take Fish Oil with Omega 3, and just found out it is a blood thinner.
