• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Swapping third-party parts

I am considering selling my '13 RTS for a newer RTS model come this spring. What is holding me back is the investments I have made in third-party add-ons. Below is a list of most of them. Which items should I try to remove myself, which ones should I try to get a dealer to swap to a newer RTS, and which ones should I just leave on the bike either due to difficulty in removing them or they don't match up with a '14 or newer bike?

I will leave the trunk rack (holes in the trunk), rear Custom Dynamics rear light (glued in and not going anywhere), GloRiders (not worth the effort). What about the rest?

Ultimate seat with backrest
Elka shocks stage 1 in front
Baker air wings
Spyderpop bumpskid
GlowRiders
Belt tensioner by baker air wings
Diamond R passenger arm rest
Diamond R spider trunk rack
lamonster highway nbv with web pegs
BRP Trailer hitch
F-4 windshield
Custom Dynamics rear brake light

I just leave the old parts in place, and hope that they make the bike more desirable... :dontknow:
Besides: there's a lot of fun to be had; when figuring out what new stuff you're going to put on the new ride!

I could probably give it all up but I'd like to keep the hitch and the windshield. It would hurt a little starting over but newer bike, newer farkles.

As I see it....

You could transfer all those parts to the new ryde. Now if it is worth it...?? there are new and better items out there that you may like better as far as lighting etc. If it is comfort take the seat arm rests back rests and windshield and put the stock ones back on. The bump skid is probably beat up anyway . The shocks are expensive and if the maintenance has been done on them could also take them along....choices :dontknow:

When I traded my ''11 for my '14 RT SE (base model) I had the dealer put my old seat on the '14 because of the backrest. I also swapped my Triaxis handle bars and, of course, my Seal Floorboards. You're not going to get much, id anything, for your farkles. Left the sway bar and had a new one of Ron's installed.

I'd take the seat, wind shield, Highway pegs, hitch, air wings, & shocks. Anything you want and can use that does not leave any trace of parts being removed (ie, holes). What ever you leave on the old bike will not make it more valuable at trade in or sale time. All our extra farkles only personalize our bikes and do not add any resale value. In fact, a good clean completely bone stock unit is more desirable over one that has been "customized" with after market parts.....

You can’t get the Custom Dynamics light off without wrecking it so leave that for sure. The seat will transfer and do will most of the other items.

Ultimate seat with backrest - keep.
Elka shocks stage 1 in front - ?
Baker air wings - keep.
Spyderpop bumpskid - leave. It's probably beat up and is a nice extra for the next owner
GlowRiders - leave.
Belt tensioner by baker air wings - leave. There are better ones available.
Diamond R passenger arm rest - keep.
Diamond R spider trunk rack - leave.
lamonster highway nbv with web pegs - keep
BRP Trailer hitch - definitely keep.
F-4 windshield - definitely keep.
Custom Dynamics rear brake light - leave.
My suggestions in red.
