I hadn't heard about that, so I googled it. Ewwwww! :barf: Worse: the seat height is 31" -- I have a 30" inseam. That's no low rider.
I rode BMWs for 32 years. I don't like where they've gone. I think the auto side of BMW has infected the bike side. As a result, they forget that which made them renown: light weight and super simplicity. Some time during the '90s, BMW decided they needed to get into the superbike arena, and the result was super-complex machines.
When I was looking for a new machine in 2014, before I bought my RT-S, I was seriously considering a Ural sidecar rig. Ural has made impressive strides in quality and reliability, and their machine are pretty much what BMW was in the '70s: a simple airhead design that most anybody can wrench.
