Was out of town for a few weeks and have not been able to ride. Got out today for a decent ride stopped for lunch and became the instant star. Everybody wanted to talk about the Spyder, had a good 30 mins of photo shoots kind of cool to see so many people interested and to see the smiles when I invited them to sit and take photos.

It is nice when you can make folks happy. I always offer to let them take photos with the spyder...made for a fun first ryde for a while...:clap::clap:

hahaha on those great sunny days , out for a ride , the kids turn around and point , the parents turn around and wonder " kids or spyder ? " :roflblack: I have a few folks who are looking at the cycle with hopes of owning , I do not think it will be a hard sell , one day soon will take them for a spin , and give them a place too go shopping ! { might need to let the dealer know I am sending them , get some good discounts for later ... :thumbup: }

A few years ago I had a Ural sidecar rig. There's a thing called "UDF" or "Ural delay factor" which means whenever you go somewhere you add time to allow for the questions.
So now maybe we should recognize "SDF" or the "Spyder delay factor" and add a little extra time to deal with the questions and attention.

Has anyone ever heard that the Spyder is nothing more than a snowmobile with wheels, made and designed for warm weather riding? Manufactured by Bombardier, a company that also manufactures snowmobiles, its not a huge leap. Like Chasinsparks, I get a lot of favorable comments as well and they're nice to hear of course. Mine is neither the oldest, nor the newest model, but I still get a thrill from riding it as does the wife. Unless it's 90+ degrees.

Funny you should ask, I tell people that a lot, it's a snowmobile on wheels with a whole lot of technology.

My wife and I like talking to the people that are interested in the Spyders, She gets a lot of questions about how difficult it is to learn. She is 66 and only 5'3" and rides about 25,000 miles a year , so she has some great input about riding, packing, camping, riding gear and pulling a trailer as she pulls the dog trailer and I pull the tent trailer. On the way to the Oregon Coast once we stopped at a rest area and some young Japanese tourist asked to take a picture besides the bike and Ellie had them sit on it and take photos, soon we had emptied the entire bus load and spent about a 1/2 hour taking photos, It felt great to give the bus load of tourist another look at how Americans can react to tourist. She also gets questions from Men riders that want to get their wife's on bikes and has even let a few ride behind her for a couple blocks to give them the feel of stability as that what sold her on getting a spyder in the first place. She once even got a comment from Jay Leno when we were up at the Rock Store so she could ride the Snake.
