• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

layout of switches on dash

I have a plain vanilla 2013 ST.

Can someone with a farther-up-the-foodchain (e.g. ST-Limited) model tell me what the four functions are of the rectangular switches by the base of the handlebars?

I know the one on the left-most position is for the Park Brake.

The other three....?

Am I right in assuming that if I order the BRP OEM "Foglight" switch, I can hook it up to the connector behind it, and then the plugs at the opposite end of the wiring harness (at the fog light location) will be live?

TIA

Pete

Ok here you go

I can only list what I have so far
Left->Right
P/brake. Heated grips. Empty space (no switch). Blank filler with wires (no idea what for) . Fog lights prewired

the fog light kit #219400348 that I got from Pitbulls @ spyderfest had the rocker switch with it. & some pitiful instructions. (I like details) anyway fyi you will need help from someone with kid sized hands to reach upper bolts on either side. PITA also the lights have a housing & a body panel piece make sure the body piece is as far back as you can get it or you will have a ugly lil gap. :lecturef_smilie: There is a youtube of install, the guy removes upper part of shock:sour: That is one way but it can be done without all that. :D Also good time to add Tricrings from TricLed:bowdown::firstplace: (Fyi they only mount to the fog lights the stock plastic is not round) FYI mine tapped into fender driving lights, but only way camera would see ring was with brights headlight on.

ST switches.

The wiring harness is common to several models of Spyder.
The switches are from the left to right.
Parking Brake - Heated Grips - Compressor for the rear shock on the RT - Fog Lights.
On my ST I installed switches purchased on Ebay/Amazon for my DIY heated grip and DIY fog lights.
Although not shown the switches have red pilot lights that compliment the stock switched.
The switches plug into the standard harness connectors. You can plug your fog lights and grip heaters
into the standard sockets. That way the accessories use the bikes original power and fuses.
I bypassed the compressor switch and installed a rocker switch for my garage door opener.

Also cut a square hole in the center of the switch panel and installed a dual USB port with a voltmeter.

Thanks so much for that info.

This switch?

The backside of THAT switch seems only to have three spade connectors, which don't appear to match the CanAM wiring harness connectors.

I would love to find the oem switches; then I would only have to get the correct plug-in connectors at the fog light location on the bike

Pete.

switches

Seems strange but the Ebay switches work. Saved a bit of money too.

Use the part numbers below for the 2 OEM switches and order from you local dealer.
OEM Grip Heater switch 710002354
OEM Fog Light switch 710002351

The OEM switches are available from Power Sports Warehouse and all major Sypder parts suppliers
Be careful with PSW. They are inexpensive but not the best in customer service.

Connectors are available on EBay/Amazon - Thanks to JimVonBaden for the details
Superseal Connectors
These should give you the info you need to figure out what you're working with and how to manipulate it all.

Driving Light Connector The wiring is set up so you can turn the lights on with the switch, or, swap wires, and they come on with the low beams and shut off with the high beams. For the switch you want gray with the green stripe and black.

Heated grip connector - Sorry I don't have a source for this connector
