Should we, who bought in the US, be concerned about 10th Anniversary in Canada?????
I hope someone in BRP is not addressing this properly.
Can he pay for it and submit for reimbursement in Canada?
What dealer did he go to in what town? Being in AZ I want to know, and others may want to know as well.
Rob
I work at a Chrysler car dealer in the US. We cannot do warranty repairs on a Canadian vehicle unless the owner is from Canada and is in transit, for example, vacation. We have to have a copy of his Canadian drivers license and registration.
The 2014 warranty page is the same looks like. The heading clearly states BRP Limited Warranty - USA and Canada. The only restrictions are as has been said the buyer must be a resident of the country where he is buying it and the dealer must be an authorized dealer in that country. The only other limitation is that Spyders sold in the US have a 5 year warranty on the emissions system. Canada does not.
Otherwise everything is discussed without regard to country of purchase or use.
:banghead: This is gonna start making our friends to the North think that we're building The Wall on the wrong border... :banghead:
:agree:...Total B.S. :gaah:
That's a short version of the warranty terms. To have a warranty the bike has to be sold by a dealer in the country to a resident of the country. Doesn't refer to claims. This line
"the buyer must be a resident of the country where he is buying it and the dealer must be an authorized dealer in that country."
Sure sounds like you have to get it fixed in the country you bought it in....bummer if true.
They could have borders if they state so within their terms...Didn't know warranties had borders.:dontknow:
The link to the Owner's guides is down. So I can't get the 2017 version, but I have the 2016 RT manual saved. The language has changed a little bit.
This warranty coverage is available only if each of the following conditions has
been fulfilled:
– Routine maintenance must be performed as indicated in the OPERATOR'S
GUIDE. BRP reserves the right to make warranty coverage contingent upon
proof of proper maintenance.
BRP will not honor this limited warranty to any private use owner or commercial
use owner if the preceding conditions have not been met. Such limitations are
necessary in order to allow BRP to preserve both the safety of its products, and
also that of its consumers and the general public.
I spend equal amounts of time in both Counties. Wife is Canadian I am American. We purchased Spyder in Canada as
this is our permanent residence. My dealer assured me any warranty work could be done in either country. This is another
stupid dealer who just wants to steal money from a customer. The dealer should be named so people will know who to stay away from. Bob My thoughts only and some times I am wrong.
They're going to be the ones building a wall up there... to keep US out.....![]()
see my edit #13
33% to be exact.......I can understand why they'd want to keep SOME of us out... :roflblack:

The only one saying the warranty is not good is the dealer the OP took his bike to. All we're saying is he is a Canadian resident, he bought the Spyder in Canada, the dealer was authorized to sell it in Canada, so his warranty is valid when he travels in the US.So, this person bought one of the most expensive spyders you can find and now you are telling them the warranty is no good one model year later. What good is a warranty you can drive away from? Not a real bright move...........
:duh:
Just sayin'..............
He is in Surprise AZ. That's near Phoenix I think. The dealership is Ridenow Powersports. Multiple locations, don't know which one.
