• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

REMEMBER POGO STICKS?

Oh yeah....

those are some seriously modified pogo sticks although if you remember them this one was insane.....:yikes:

27158605_1_x.jpg nothing like more power...:2thumbs:

:2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

And...the black boxes are working today. Don't know what changed, but I will take it.

Those pogo sticks are something new. Kind of like the skate boards now compared to those in the late 60s.

I'm glad they are wearing helmets!

They almost need parachutes!

Patti,

Re: Skateboards
Did I tell you the story about how my friend and I started the "Wide-Body" trend on the East Coast?
1976: We both decided to give skateboarding a try since it would help to distract us from the rigors of a collegiate education. He was a surfer, and told me that it would be easy!
 He lied...
After buying the typical 6" wide skateboard: I quickly found out that my two left-feet needed more real estate... We took some plywood, cut two 10" skateboard blanks from it, and added a kicktail cut out of a hunk of 2x6...
The other skaters went NUTZ when they saw them! :D
Pretty soon, we were both sporting 12" boards that we custom cut from skateboard blanks that found found in one of the skateboarding magazines...
Originally we were adding axle extensions onto the trucks, but the accessory marketplace caught up to the new boards quickly!
Skateboarding was fun!
I broke:
Both wrists (in one fall...)
Both feet (one of them twice!)
A fibula

And carried a bruise on my left buttock for about three years!
Ahh... college was fun back then!

Bob, I feel your pain. In 1978, I was skateboarding on a half pipe when the board got out from under me, I tripped over it, went down and ended up with a displaced spiral fracture of the Tibia, Fibula, Heel & Ankle. Needless to say, the next year was not a lot of fun. But, my bad for acting a lot younger than I was, and thinking that my skateboarding skills were better than they were. The only bright spot - if you can call it that - was that I ended up in pictures on the front page of a local rag, both boarding, and then being attended to by the Paramedics. The press coverage was both exhilarating and humiliating. And of course, when she feels that I'm getting too big for my britches, my darling bride is quick to remind me about that time and what happened when I let youth and being dumb get in the way of common sense. But, we're only young once right?

Brothers in Arms...
(But it's usually the Paramedic's arms...)

I drove from Wildwood, NJ back to Trenton with the two busted wrists... nojoke
I dropped straight down into a 16 foot bowl, and blasted up the other side...

...and ran out of wall! :yikes:

I crash-dived, and landed right on the drain back at the bottom!
Ouch...
