• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Texas Hill Country 2016 4th Annual Spyders In The Hills

I could use a riding buddy for this event leaving DFW area.
PM AY4B, he lives in the area and will be heading down. Im in Forney but we are leaving early to stop by some friends before heading down, or I would say you could tag along with us.

Yes I am leading a small group from Midlothian tomorrow morning at 8:30, depart at 9:00 from the Love's on 67 and 289. Anyone is welcome to join us. I am also leading RYdes from Coyote Powersports for Twisted Sisters on Friday and Enchanted Rock on Saturday.
For more details go to Spyder Ryders of East Texas and Join up for free. I also posted all the Garmin GPX files For the rides there as well for download, but you need to be a member. Until now those files did not exist. I created them on basecamp from the Spreadsheet that Ray sent me.

I'm leaving on Wed., the 12th and will probably stay over just one night in southern Oklahoma. I-35 almost all the way, about 750 miles.

For those who will be coming down IH35 from Dallas, I suggest you take Hwy 29 west out of Georgetown. Hwy 29 exits just north of G'town to Burnet, then Hwy 281 south to Hwy 46 and west to Boerne. MISS THE GEORGETOWN AND AUSTIN TRAFFIC! See ya.

Enchanted Rock

Thank You Daryl and Thank You Lilly for leading the ride to Enchanted Rock State Park today. The ride was well mapped and full of scenic views.

Joe

I had Squared Away (Joe and Ann Meyer) align Mr. Cognac. It pulled to the right and after Joe checked it out, it seems I have a bad tire. Joe spent a lot of time on this and I am pleased with knowing a new tire is needed. I have 8,600 miles on them and plan to change out both. Money well spend with Squared Away.....thanks Joe and Ann.

Spyders in the Hills Rally Schedule

Wow, What a ryde this has been!! Thank y'all for coming and having a blast.:2thumbs::2thumbs:

THANK YOU !!!!!!

To all who attended the Spyders In The Hills Rally, a great big Thank You! Everyone seemed to have a good time, and we have had lot of positive comments on FB and elsewhere.
Special thanks to several folks without whom this would not have happened:
First, to Diane, who spark plugged this thing from the git go! Way to go! (btw, she's my better half)
Second, to Tina Crow, who shepherded the T-shirts from start to finish, and lots more (e.g. our FB page); to Barbara Talbot, who helped with door prizes, coupons, and keeping us organized!; to Linda Ingram, whom Diane describes as a worker bee - she helped immensely in lots of capacities. There were so many others who helped in so many ways - the folks who helped at the registration table, with door prizes, the GOS gathering headed up by Charlyne Baker ("Flamingo Babe"), and on and on.
Next, to the ride leaders who helped shepherd folks along the way: Charlyne Baker, Ron Beadles, Daryl Ingram, Lilli Peters, and Jay MacLeod. We appreciate you!
Next, to Val Anderson at the Boerne CVB, who helped us secure group rates at the hotels, made and printed the ride guides and maps (based on the ride guides we provided to her), the welcome bags, helped us make the front page of the Boerne Star, and too much else to mention here.
Next, to Boerne Police Department and Kendall County Sheriff's Office for the much-appreciated escorts out of Coyote and onto our routes! Those added greatly to our safety.
Next, to Chaplain Cody Franz and the CMA who had a great welcome station, complete with drinks and snacks, and who blessed each ride before departure.
Next, to our vendors: Sue Hopper (Signs and Wonders by Sue); Fred Reese (SpyderLyterFred); Joe and Ann Meyer (Squared Away); and unofficial vendors Jim and Tammy Booth (Tire Graffixx/Merlin's Blood).
Next, to the folks who donated door prizes, especially Lamonster Garage, Coyote PowerSports, the Helmet House, Darren at Western Powersports, Merlin's Blood and others ...
Next, to Oma's Kitchen (aka Laura Moore, or "my better half" as Rocky described her) for the excellent Fiesta Dinner Friday evening at Coyote, and to Mama's for the delicious BBQ dinner Saturday evening
Finally, to Jerry and Tyler Hunter, to Rocky Fulker, and to all the staff at Coyote PowerSports for hosting the rally. We know it was a lot of work for you, and we appreciate you more than we can say!
It's a certainty that we have omitted someone, and for that we apologize - no slight is intended, it's just hard to keep it all straight. Know that you are appreciated, even if you were not mentioned by name. Diane and I are beginning to rest up a bit, but it was a whirlwind ryde!

Comments from other sites

I'm going to pass on two posts from other sites, for those of you who may not see other sites besides SpyderLovers:
"This was my first Spyder rally. It felt like a huge family reunion."
"The staff at Coyote was such a pleasure to work with at the event. Their TRUE customer service goes way beyond the event - a skill that should be a model for ALL Spyder dealers."
Way to go, Coyote! Thanks for all your help and hospitality with the Spyders In The Hills rally, and for the great door prizes.

Thanks, Bill! It was a very busy time, and I did not get as much time to visit with you as I would have liked. Thanks for coming, and for helping the North Texas folks get here safely! See you on the road!

I also want to add my thanks to all who were involved in making this rally so good. As one non-SL said, it was like a big family . . . but that's how I feel every time I get together with other Spyder ryders. The dealership people and the vendors were great and a special thanks to all the volunteers who made this rally possible!:clap::clap::clap::clap:

Spyders in the Hills was a great success. Let's make the Texas Trike Reunion a success too. TTR will be held in Kerrville, TX April 20-22, 2017. More information later. Make your plans early. Hope to see all of you again.
