• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thinking Outside The Box

Well it IS a BRP, so you can't say that it's a Spyder "knock-off". It was either the very first Spyder prototype, or a Ski-doo owned by some guy who had to move down south and missed riding his sled. :)

I always used to say that when I retired: I'd head South, with a snowmobile on a trailer...
When the first person says to me, "What the Hell is that thing?": that's where I'd drop anchor!

You said "model not included," but I've seen actual Jeep For Sale ads that say "includes wench." :roflblack:

(When they have that cable-drum thingy on the front...)

Now that Jeep is owned by Fiat: they've got access to an entirely new box of wenches...

According to Sledmaster in this post, http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...start-this-way&p=843063&viewfull=1#post843063, the first prototypes were snowmobiles with wheels.
I've read tons of threads on this forum since joining, and I've forgotten what many of them were about. But THAT thread was one of the more memorable ones. It had snowmobiles with wheels, Spyders with skis, and it even had a love song in it about diarrhea. :sour: (I was never quite sure how that last one fit in.) :D

Bob, the first snowmobile I ever saw was in December 1963. I got orders to Grand Forks AFB, ND and was driving to the base for the first time. I was just east of Grand Forks and looked out in this huge field and here was this funny looking vehicle, zooming along at about the speed I was driving on the highway. I had heard of them, but it was the first one I had actually seen.

I have a good motorcycle friend who winters at his place in upper Maine and summers here in south Texas (never really figured this out) and has three snowmobiles....one is some sort of high powered rig that he races and says it will run over 100 mph.....he loves them.

:spyder2:

The "Love Song" featured a Polaris, that had been triked...
So it did. Thanks.

I didn't even think about what that thing was at the time. I guess I was too distracted by all that was going on INSIDE the pub - not to mention the poor guy sitting at home on the throne.
