• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder sighting

We saw two in Valdosta, GA getting gas at the same station we were. One of them was a 2016 F3-T red pulling a matching trailer, and the other was a F3-S orange color. They were from Tampa, FL and heading to ride the Dragon Tail in North Carolina/Tenn. going up I-75 interstate. We talked to them for 15 minutes or so! Yesterday, we saw a white RT Limited in the city of Valdosta, GA. He was riding with a group of motorcycles! We have a Harley Dealership about 20 miles from our house in Tifton, GA. Before getting this Spyder RT Limited, we had about 5 or 6 Harleys in a row, so you can see why with a dealer that close. Our nearest Cam Am Dealer for Spyder is 100 miles away and only sells about 1 per month! Very few in south georgia!

Okay - I have a question. I see so many posts in this thread, and yet most are not answered. I've seen quite a few Spyders in my travels, whose riders I'd like to acknowledge and contact, but feel like I'll never get an acknowledgement. So...not being contrary, but what's the point?

I would respond if someone posted that they saw me, but nobody ever does. That's what I get for putting that stealth wrap on my Spyder :riding:

Earlier in the thread some people acknowledged that they were probably the Spyder mentioned in the post.
But think of the odds.
There are roughly, what maybe 120,000 Spyders on the road. There are roughly 20,000 members on this site.
Right there, at best, there is a 1 in 6 chance that the other ryder is even a member.
How often is this thread reviewed ??
There are roughly 250,000 views. That means that every member may ave looked at this thread about 12 times in 6 years.
As I said, there were some acknowledgments early on, but as the thread gets larger and as the Spyder population grows, it just seems less and less likely that the two parties would match up.
Just my thoughts. I could be wrong.

I see a guy on a white rs? 3 times a week as we pass each other. I dont think he is on here though.
Last week the people i met at the gas station in wareham are also not on here. Told them about us, but.

Totally agree with thinking ...

I agree with this thinking, while I look at the spyder sightings (when it comes up on the what's trending list) I don't seek it out. I actually think this topic could work better and get a lot more activity if it was broken into states of where the sighting took place. This way, one wouldn't have to sift to the end of the 50 page list and read posts of sightings that were 1000 miles away them when they are seeking sightings in their area.

After all this time,I finally got a response on here on this topic. We have been known to drive through 5 states in one go and never spot another Spyder. When I do run across other Spyders, usually at a gas stop, I have yet to encounter anyone who is on here. So I give them the info and welcome to join the fun.

There's nothing to stop you posting a "Spyder Sightings" thread in a state-specific forum. That may be a good idea. Then I can watch the threads for the states I've been ryding in. I usually ignore this thread, and only review it occasionally.
