I was excited about the 10 year Homecoming

Awesome product

I use your app[spydercode] and most of it's options and it is awesome. I thank you for making it. I am sorry to hear of the loss of faith in their upper management. SOB's. I thought they were like the Saturn car company before GM started to put their corporate BS in the company, I worked for them for 15 years up untill they folded the division and the 1st 10 years it about the owner. We did things for them and the communities that no other car company did. I thought that BRP was like the old Saturn but i see it is the same corporate BS.

I hear the frustration in your posts and am sorry you going through this. I hope they at least apologize for your time and how it was handled... Thank you to the work you do.

:agree: (except for the tongue-in-cheek part about hacking). ;)

Roger, your SpyderCodes app is extremely useful to the community, and there is no doubt that BRP should have recognized that all along, and understood that anything that is good for the greater Spyder community is also good for them. It's certainly not right that they jerked you around on the other app (and also on the SpyderCodes app in the past). You have a right to be upset.

That said, I also agree with what Paul said above ...and with what Ann said in post #13. (Those going to the "Homecoming" event, should go with eyes open, knowing what it's really all about.) Since they did what they did, they are not worth your continued frustration. Write them off. Don't let them get you down. (I know, it's all too easy for me to say.)

One final thought... This forum, like your SpyderCodes app, is all about supporting BRP customers - NOT supporting BRP. We all know that there have been many times that BRP has been "less than gracious" with their customer service and support. That only means that this forum - and it's many members, like you, who support the community - are even more important.

There are 3 sides; the 2 parties in question, and then the actual unadulterated truth.
No, there are really only two sides to every disagreement. The "actual unadulterated truth" is ALWAYS just an elusive figment. That's why lawyers make so much money. ;)

You might have wondered why I was excited about the BRP homecoming

It was because I thought the folks running it were honest and above board.
When I was contacted by a high ranking BRP executive and asked to continue with my Guide App I was ecstatic.

Finally some recognition for the work that I had done for them.
But, I was wrong.

The BRP management decided to manipulate me and (as has been the way all along) they decided they would get some free work from me and create an app for the upcoming anniversary.

That simply isn't going to happen now.
Both apps (the iOS and the android) have become unpublished.

Why?
Because BRP is not an honest company.
Those who claim to act in their behalf are devious and dishonest.
Maybe later I will name names, but suffice to say now I have discovered they are no honest brokers.

So will I be at the 10 year Anniversary?
You bet I will.
To confront those who have lied to us and to present my case.

I am very displeased that they have treated you or disrespected you in ANYWAY. That is redi loud, you have done for us, our experience as it relates to their product.:yikes:
i use your app almost everyday, I enhances their product and makes them look better.
i worked for a large company that was the market leader worldwide, a famous Canadian company bought it, put Canadians in charge and in two years they were selling divisions just to stay above water, and in 5 years they sold it to different American company for substantial loss.
Fact: they do well within their border but they do not understand the American worker or consumer.
Please keep up your good work with the app!:firstplace::lecturef_smilie::riding:

Sorry to hear about their deceit.

Sorry I am not up to date with what your talking about or what exactly that you have been developing and that BRP is trying to steal from you? But anytime someone has the guts to speak out and not afraid to stick it to the man (or corporation) I am all for It !!!!!!

Simply put Roger developed an app for Apple and Android devices called SpyderCodes.
it is simple clean and does a great job of giving you MPG, code definitions, emergency help and more.

So sorry to hear you have been caught in a tangle of deceit and poor communication resulting in a waste of your valuable time. Really do appreciate all you do for the Spyder community.

I always like your posts because you are one of the few that can be trusted with being unbiased. But, do you think either side will be 100% correct? The answer of course is no. It then comes down to who is more correct, and who determines that? Is it by popular poll? You know what I'm getting at.

I expressed my total support for you earlier, so enough said but I want to help keep this thread alive, so permit me further commentary on the issue at large.

Make no mistake, any well managed public corporation is and should focus efforts on profits, that is what the stock holders demand. Though politically incorrect as it may be in this s new insane world, that is what it is. Sure profits come from many efforts, perhaps the best is the lost art of customer service but that is a different topic.

I have assumed all along that BRP is having this 10th anniversary bash for one purpose and one only, to promote the brand, increase customer awareness and identity. They may have budgeted some negatives in the P&L but they still need to ask for our financial participation. Getting us up there, touring the plant, R&D center and history are means of promoting the previously mentioned thought processes.

If anyone thinks this is a big pat on the back thank you customer program, then you were naïve in your considerations. Call it corporate greed or whatever you like but it is simply branding promotion, it is simply business. Go up there, consider their hospitality, open doors for viewing of their operations and better understanding of the product that you purchased but don't expect free products, a new bike for all that attend or more than a nice tour and history lesson. Sure there will be some glad handing and acknowledgement od customers and your purchase or continued loyalty but it is a tool to promote sales . It is a good program, an
nice jest urge and a sincere event, but please don't think it is about you, if so you will be very disappointed.

BRP

:yikes: Wow! Unbelievable! I appreciate all that you do Roger. One would think that BRP would too. All of us together could be a powerful tool. As for the Anniversary thing, I am going only to see friends and the adventure.

I feel completely sick about this.
So what I have learned is this.
BRP and their executives are not honest.

The upcoming Homecoming is simply a corporate ploy.
I have been snared by the dishonesty but you need not be.

Simply say no to corporate manipulation.

Normally I would be completely against this type of behaviour.
However, I believe we have been deceived.
Big Time.

Sorry, if this sounds bitter.
That's because it is.
The 10 year Homecoming is not what it seems.

It is a sham.
I will be attending to confront those who have lied.
There is no other word for it.

Roger, I'm sorry the company that makes a product we love employs people who would use such tactics. If the person is so high up, it may even reflect the culture of the company itself, and that is just disappointing and sad to me as a user of their products.

If you are going to confront someone while at the event, you should sell tickets. I, for one, would like to watch that.

As Trump would say, there is my side and the wrong side. I love that guy!!! He does not hide his feelings or thoughts on anything and that will be his down fall. Just I little to real to be Pres.

Just to be clear I am not for or against anyone. Just throwing it out there.

Dang It Roger

I was very close to the physical situation at Spyderfest a few years back when BRP reacted unfavorably to your awesome Spydercodes program. A program that to this day benefits the Spyder ryding community.
And now this around their Homecoming Event: 2 times makes a pattern...disappointed in BRP and sad for you ...I for one (of many) appreciate your skills and how you apply them to help the Spyder community as a whole without any thing asked (a huge Thank You is in order).
Have to agree that hanging on to this only destroys you...But getting your ducks lined up and addressing them at the Event may be in order...if you can get a BRP audience of the "power players" to sit down with you.
I'm in your corner.

if nothing else, your app is on my phone... BRP's is NOT.....
stand tall Roger, you have many friends out in SL world...
SPYD3R

:agree: I hope I never have to use it cause I have fault codes, but, you're app is on my phone and tablet. Thank you

What a load of BS. Judging a country from the results of one company acquisition is narrow minded in the extreme. ( Removed what was here to stay politically neutral)

...Sorry, I'm just a little skeptical, but willing to form an opinion with a lot more information.

You are fairly new here. Roger is not a fly by night guy unproven at the art of writing apps. He has provided (freely) an app called Spydercodes that many of us to great advantage. If your spyder ever throws a code, chances are you will be able to solve the mystery of those few characters with a quick lookup on the app. Has a lot of other functionality as well.
