• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I was excited about the 10 year Homecoming

Don't know what to say....

Roger, I just wanted you to know that I appreciate the work you put into Spydercodes. Haven't said "thank you" yet, so THANK YOU!
~Sandee~

I guess, I'm in the "what did you expect" camp. Apparently, if the brain cells remember right, they jerked you around and wouldn't help you a few year/s ago.

Personally, there are so many reasons not to go to their event, that I never even considered it.

Having practiced law in another life, I can assure you that you do go and even if you could have a face to face, it wouldn't change a thing and you wouldn't get any "closure/satisfaction". AND you might end up in a Canadian jail if you would do what I'd like to do, smack the CEO up side the head.

With the usual behavior of BRP to different issues with the Spyders, I wouldn't take a phone call from them. They don't have enough money to entice me to get in bed with them on any project. I haven't had any issues with my Spyder, but after reading SL for 2 years I just consider myself lucky.

I was wrong.

I am an emotional person.
I consider the Spyder community a famiily.

What happened with the GuideApp was a basic screw up.
I published the GuideApp on two platforms and notified the BRP guy.
The turn around time for all my emails to him previous to this was almost instant.

I heard nothing for a week.

I wrongly saw this as another slap and let my emotions run away.
The BRP Guy was on vacation, something that old fart retired guys like me don't even consider.

Apologies to all of you.
I was wrong.

Apologies too to the BRP Guy.
I was wrong.

It's never easy to admit a mistake... nojoke
Thanks for this update, and I'm glad that BRP didn't turn out to be as bad as our imaginations were making them seem...

Thanks! :2thumbs:

It takes a stand up guy to say, "I was wrong." Thank you for that. Misunderstandings happen often and I'm thankful this was just that. It sounds like things might work out for you!

You are fairly new here. Roger is not a fly by night guy unproven at the art of writing apps. He has provided (freely) an app called Spydercodes that many of us to great advantage. If your spyder ever throws a code, chances are you will be able to solve the mystery of those few characters with a quick lookup on the app. Has a lot of other functionality as well.

You may have more time on SL's than edmarble; but, I think you may have missed his point. It looks like he's not ready to hook up to the train of popular opinion without more detailed information/facts, and your cursory statements don't provide that.

Roger this has happened to all of us. I have been I sales for 40 years and have gotten POd at people for not replying to me in a timely manner. It is easy to get worked up to a boiling point. Over the years I have tried to train sales people to understand, that when someone is not responding, we don't know what is going on in their lives, and yes they all have lives that don't involve us. There are vacations, deaths and births in families etc. Our involvement with these people is very narrow when you consider the scope of their lives. I know you have also made your apologies to BRP, and thanks for manning up here! You are a class act, but like the rest of us you are human!

Roger, I now think even better of you than before, and I thought a lot of you previously.
It is a good man that admits a mistake and makes an apology for it.

Joe

I'm glad things are worked out OK, Roger. It is too bad the BRP guy didn't put that info on his voice mail greeting and email auto-response. That was SOP when I worked in the corporate world. No matter what, I'll be right beside you.

Roger, thank you for your update and I am happy that it was a simple mistake rather than a slight by BRP. I suffer from the same impatience and can forget that there are 100+ reasons for someone to not respond to me as promptly as I expect.
I've thanked you in the past for your work on the spydercodes app that many of us have downloaded and I thank you now for being a standup person. You had my respect before and you have it now. Still hope to meet you next year.

Gary

A stand up man of integrity who cares deeply about things he "loves"...and he does "love" his Spyder!!! Not nearly as much as he LOVES HIS GLORIA....but trust me there is no comparison on that one!!! Thanks Roger...heck the last time I tried to walk on water and be perfect I sank like a rock. Only one person I know succeeded at "walking on water...aka being perfect". Hugs and thanks. and wow I didn't remove the new APP...so start adding stuff to it...like where is the best coffee!!! Don't you dare....:roflblack::roflblack:

roger, you have helped me a lot on this site and i thank you. im glad
glad this has been resolved. hopefully, happy days ahead.

Your post reminded me of something... There are a LOT of very helpful people on this forum. I've been helped by many members, and tried to give back where I have been able. Of the over 2000 posts I've made here, I don't remember a lot of them. But I DO remember that when I first joined Spyderlovers, back in 2013 after I bought my RTL, my very first post was a question about an anomaly in the user manual concerning the way the automatic ACS (Air Controlled Suspension) system worked. Roger was the first guy to offer an explanation for my question. For some reason, I've never forgotten that.

Thanks again, Roger.

...And also thanks for posting your apology message earlier in this thread. Like others have said, that was not easy, and it takes a stand-up guy to do that. You are indeed such a man. As for Old Retired Farts forgetting that working folks take vacations, I identify with that. I've only been retired for a little less than three years, and already I find myself getting caught in that trap. :opps:

Roger, as you know I've (Steve) been vocal about my support for - and use of - Spydercodes both within and outside BRP. I wasn't privy to any of the exchanges or developments that took place between you and anyone else here (it's a big company!), but from an After-Sales / Consumer Experience standpoint, please let us know if there's anything we can do to help you continue the important work you're doing for the community.

Nice Steve!

I truly appreciate the understanding about the ****storm that I brought on myself.
I think I have apologized to everyone that I offended and it seems that while probably not forgotten it is approaching forgiven.

Here's what is and has been happening.
SpyderCodes (android) has recently had a keypad enhancement added.
SpyderCodes (apple) will be updated in September.
The Vacourt GuideApp (android) has been uploaded and all that got the previous version will get the new one.
This includes an itinerary feature that, once all the venues and times are released, you will be able to generate an email that includes your itinerary - where you are staying, what restaurants and times and any evening plans. A nice way to keep in touch with your friends.

I'd appreciate feedback as to if you find it intuitive or not.
The apple version is not yet done and there is a delay to get it approved before anyone sees it.
