Few updates on the RT

Hope this is in the right spot.

Anyway. Got around to plasti dipping my wheels black. And also bout an Xgrip ram mount and mounted it where my zuma gps goes.

The small ram mount with a square back and 4 holes to bolt it down fit perfect in the gps charging mount holes.

So I put the rubber cover over and made some small holes that lined up with the bolt holes. And bolted the ram mount down. Like so

I do have a small suggestion: If you get a lot of glare on your display screen, try Plasti-Dipping your handlebar cover. My 2010 had the silver cover, and it was a problem in strong sunlight. The 2014 has the black cover: problem solved!

Awesome. I have been considering doing the same thing to my chrome wheels, as I think they would look better with the Pearl White. A question - did you do the inner part of the wheels or just the outer part? How long did it take? Looking forward to a long term report.

Yup I'll be doing all the gray parts on the machine. Prob over the winter or in the next week cause it will be raining all week.

I just did the outer part. With the outer part black you don't even notice the chrome on the inside.

I've been using plasti dip for a long time. I did my truck wheels a while back. They lasted over 2 years and only reason I peeled it off was cause I sold it. And that was through 2 winters with salted roads etc

If done right and enough coats it will last for ever.

I put about a can and a half on. So about 6 coats. It took me about an hour to do.

Make sure you clean the wheels with rubbing alcohol to get all grease and films off them. Then make sure they are 100% dry.

Next make sure your plasti dip is warm. I use a shaker cup with hot water from the tap. And put the can in there for about 20 secs.

Next shake it for a min. Literally a min.

Then test spray back and forth a spot quick just to clean the nozzle end.

Then do light coats for every coat. And eventually it will be done. Leave it 10 mins between coats to dry a bit.

Make sure you get the spokes good on the sides. Mine is a bit thin.
