• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Good Morning Wife and I took off for a ride yesterday got 35 mi. from home and all of a sudden it looked like Christmas on my display Eng. lite DPS warning no cruise(off which has been acting up anyway) rode slow to my destination 2 more miles shut it off waited about a half an hour thought I would have to call someone but it fired right up drove home (nervously) as I'm a bit Handicapt plus deaf makes myself a bit vulnerable but wife said she heard nothing and I see people on here talking about pulling up codes how is this done thanks for any help

Your profile says that you're on a 2012 RS...
This MIGHT just be an indication that the battery is on it's last legs.
When these bikes throw all sorts of CRAZY stuff at you like that: it'll light the display up in the manner that you've described.
But still: pull the codes, and let us know what you find. Please note that it'll only show active codes, so it's really important to pull them when the bike is "lighting-up" like it did... :yikes:

All of the above...

loose / faulty connection at the battery or ground to the frame will also cause this. You may not find the codes any longer they get stored but the dealer can bring them up BUDS diagostic system. If you can start with the battery and connections.

thanks for the help except I don't understand the above do I push these does the bike need to be running??? Not very good with electronics, and things such as that did replace battery a wk ago! that's when the cruise stopped working took off the Tupperware again and made sure battery connections were tight but took it out today stayed close to home no problems?

The above will only display active codes.
An active code, as the name implies, is present while the fault condition exists.
After the condition clears the fault history can be accessed with a computer program called BUDS that generally is only available to dealers.
