• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Odometer Display reset to Zero - NO BRP FIX!! Any suggestions

I recently had my cluster replaced on our 2014 RT-S due to the clock gaining six minutes a month. BRP and the dealer said the mileage would not be effected by this change....WRONG! The odometer was re-set to zero and BRP has no solution. The dealer can plug in and read the current/correct mileage but cannot transfer it to the display. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions? Thanks.

They can not legally do anything to change the odometer back. Keep a record of the mileage and be sure to record the correct mileage on the Odometer Statement when you sell it.

Sorry....

There is no way to get the accumulated mileage on the new cluster. You do need to get that and keep it so if or when you sell it you can give the true mileage on the machine. Seems the computer keeps those details and the only thing that transfers is the hours of operation....:banghead:

According to BRP they are working on a way to fix this. The dealer said they replaced a cluster on a 2010 and 2013 with no issues. BRP acknowledges it's a technical issue.

I am no help at all....like usual.....but I have a zippity do dah clock display also
and just thought I had to put up with it. Thanks for the intel.

I actually got a dash master clock that I can actually see, and for 10 and postage it keeps great time.

Ask your dealer to affix to the frame a sticker with the actual miles from the replaced cluster; Thought that all dealers did this upon replacement. :opps:

That way when it comes time to sell/trade there will be no issues/questions as to what has happened. :ohyea:

I am going back Saturday and have them do that. Seems to me if BRP knew this would happen, they should have supplied the sticker with the new cluster.

I'd rather have a Spyder with a clock that loses time but has the correct miles, than a working clock with a discrepancy in the miles. That's the kind of stuff that people get weird about when you go to sell. Also, looks funny on the title.
Maybe they still have your old cluster?

Yes, your title will now read that the odometer does not display the actual miles. Many folks will shy away from any vehicle with an unknown milage statement. The bike will be worth considerably less at time to sell.

I don't think I'd shy away from buying it as long as the cluster replacement is well documented. If you had paperwork/invoice from the dealer showing the "mileage in" then I'd be ok with it. Unless you're some fly by night motorcycle flipper, then I'm all set.

FYI ALL Spyders the clock gains time... Your new cluster will do the same!

Mine does it and everyone else I know does too..

They should not have replaced the cluster for this...

I have talked to them and they still do have the other one. I'm going tomorrow and see if they can/will put the old back in. I also found a place here in Dallas, ZEPCO that services and repairs digital speedos and tachs. The guy said they could pull the mileage from the old one and transfer it to the new one but it would be $180.00 plus tax.

That was the recommendation from BRP and was covered under warranty.

Seems crazy a $25k clock is outperformed by a $2 kids watch from a dollar store. I thought long about when I last saw a digital clock not remain accurate, and honestly the only one I recall is on the Spyder.

Personally, I'd get it swapped back so your mileage is correct and forget there was even a clock there.[emoji106]

Not going to be an "unknown" mileage statement. I've talked to BRP tech support and the dealer. The dealer still has the original cluster which has the original mileage. I have gone less than 200 miles since replacement. The dealer is going to reinstall the original tomorrow at no cost and I will deal with setting the clock. I will have a print out from the dealer showing the actual mileage from the ECM chip.

Amazingly BRP doesn't want the old cluster back. I've talked to BRP tech support and the dealer. The dealer still has the original cluster which has the original mileage.
