There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Chrome or Black Coated

I'm asking my Spyder family for some opinions. I am debating on weather to get my rear rim and pulley, chromed or black coated. It's a 2012 Can AM Spyder RT. I like the chrome look, but will getting it chromed effect the belt? :dontknow:

...................................................You have an ....RT... can't see the rear wheel.......is it really worth the trouble and / or expense :dontknow: :lecturef_smilie:........jmho.....Mike

Good point, i'll keep that in mind. I already have the side castings chrome and it looks kind of off to me with the front rims, side castings, chrome and the rear pulley and rim grey. :chat:

BRP does have a chromed rear wheel available (for a mere $650! :yikes:), if you think that it would be an easier way to get the look that you want! :D

Black coated? Like powder coated?? Some Chrome shops now can offer black chrome. Guess more of question is "are you wanting shiny, or want to black out?

I've been contemplating doing the same thing. BRP's $650 option is quite pricy and then you would still need to get the sprocket done. Also with the finish that BRP offers the sprocket would be slightly different if chromed separately.

Has anyone used a business for chrome plating that they would recommend ?

Black the easiest way to go. Just don't clean the back wheel and it starts looking black real soon, cheap way to go as well.
Sorry guys just my wierd sense of humour at work. Stay safe.

I have seen a few people here and on Facebook that had the pulley chromed. I heard of no issues with doing so from a belt perspective.
In fact a guy was selling his on here a few weeks ago. They maybe still available.

I also did not like the grey against the Lava Bronze. I painted my wheel to match a pinstriping color on the bike. Ithink it looks pretty good. If you want to see what it looks like paint the wheel black and see if it shows enought to matter and if you like that. If you can photo shop take a picture of the bike and play with wheel treatments that way.

THE BLACK PAINT OPTION

:agree:...with Pegasus, and I would use .....Plasti-Dip Black.....because if you don't like it, you can just peel it off easy-peasy........If you like it, re-paint and put it in your oven at 325 for 15 min. let it cool in the oven......this will make the paint considerably tougher........Mike

Personally my favorite wheel color is flat black like the Harley Black Denim. Doesn't show brake dust. The Harley Black Denim also only needs to be washed with something like Dawn dish soap, dry it and your done, never wax it. Had it on my Night Rod and honestly it was the best part of the bike.

Yea i was chatting with him, but it was from a 09 RS and we was not sure if that pulley and rim would fit my 2012 RT. Also it had a few chips from removing the light strips he had attached to the rim and pulley.

Forget about it if you have an RT. No one can hardly see it in the first place. Clean it once in a while with Mothers Detail and I think it looks pretty good the way it is IMHO.
