• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well, the Mrs is onboard with the idea of going to Spyderfest this spring. Now I just need to know where to book our room. So let's hear it from some of the "hosts" and "host hotels". Give me a destination....

This will be our first fest so i'll be checking all the related posts for "things to do/see".

As time passes; the other Host Hotels will be announced.
I would be willing to bet that Joe will post whatever information he can about them as well... nojoke

I understand that the Lamplighter North in Springfield is a host hotel, be sure to tell them you are with the Spyderfest Group for the better rate.

We were with Cruzr Joe at the Best Western last year AND he and his bride are very gracious hosts. I'm doing the BW with Cruzr Joe again this year. Nice clean motel with all rooms on ground floor and can park your Spyder at your front door.

Not an issue with us

I have not stayed at the Lamplighter. What was wrong with it?

Our first Spyderfest we stayed at the Lamplighter. No problem for us - had two rooms. Make sure you get Lamplighter NORTH -- there is one south, but that will get you away from all the activities.

I would recommend the Ramada over the Lamplighter. Stayed there last year...never again.

Stayed at the Ramada Oasis last year. It's a convention center. Think huge! Met a lot of very nice people there last year. But not many Spyder riders. Awesome full breakfast, indoor pool and hot tub. It was more $$ than the others. Tom :spyder:

Tom,
When are you planning to arrive? (I'm looking at Tuesday evening...)
We'll have to see if our travel plans can coincide!

My room at Lamplighter North was long in the tooth and not cleaned satisfactorily during my stay. Don't think a vacuum cleaner or broom ever hit the place while I was there. No variety in the complementary breakfast, but maybe I'm picky. The folks staying there were great fun and a very interesting gang.

Dirty, noisy, poor service, terrible breakfast or what there was of it. Its an old hotel that needed renovating 10 yrs ago. We survived and had a great time at Spyderfest, its just that for the same money, the other hotels are much nicer.

Exactly our experience.
