• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dam***it Jim - Just got my helmet stolen

Sorry to hear that!

After 15 years of riding, just got my helmet stolen, same place I got my Spyder licenses plate stolen 6 months ago- I'm a slow learner I guess. Luckily it was my old beat up helmet that had my old cheek pads with makeup caked in and it and had a couple of cracked air vents glued back on it. Plus it was a xxsmall, good luck finding someone that can fit into that!!!! I have a couple of newer replacements thank goodness. I just ordered a lidlox helmet lock.

Guess the F3 just attracts to much attention :)

Im in Denver also and very rarely leave either of my helmets on the outside of my Spyder even though I've got the dual license plat helmet locks. Considered the lidos locks. Let me know if you like them or not.

Doesn't anyone use the frunk? I can fit two helmets in there with no problem. No worries about theft or sun-baked helmets when I return. I'm a firm believer in an ounce of prevention. It only takes a few extra seconds to stash them away.

I don't own an F3 but I test rode one and the first thing I tested was if my XL Shoei Multitech helmet would fit in the frunk, and it would not. So this would require an alternative locking method.

Lamonster has the handlebar locks.....

Thanks for all the comments. Funny no one asked what the hell "Damit Jim" means. So you all must be a bunch of old farts like me!!!!!!

i always carry a extra helmet just in case some idiot decides to do the same thing. i really hate people sometimes.

If you have the space for the extra helmet, why not just put the one you like in that space? It doesn't take me any more time to pop my frunk and drop my helmet in there than it would to carefully set in on my seat. Ok, perhaps three extra seconds.

I've got a $500+ helmet with a $150 bluetooth system attached. And my Spyder (well, any Spyder) doesn't exactly scream "Sons of Anarchy" one percenter who may actually kill you if you steal my helmet. Personally, I can't even be comfortable if I'm out in the middle of nowhere with my Spyder just out of eyesight if my helmet isn't secure (which, again, takes three extra seconds). Then again, I'm a city kid, and I've only started riding in the last three years.

I'm not saying that it's anybody's fault for having their helmet stolen, just that it isn't fun to buy a new one (well, unless I needed an excuse to buy a new one).

I know the feeling I had a snowmobile helmet stolen once. It was in a row of about 50 other helmets on a shelf, in a busy clubhouse. Also had my gloves and neck protector stuffed in it. All gone. It cost the insurance company a little over $800. Zero deductible at the time, so no financial loss but a pain in the butt.

I have lidlox and they work great except when it rains. Your helmet becomes a rain barrel. :D

Are you the type of guys that leave their hat on the saddle horn or in the truck when you go into the saloon.:roflblack: If not why leave your helmet on the seat of your bike/spyder?:D

I have used a Helmet Guardian on previous 2 wheelers and now on both my spyders. Mine is the 2 helmet model. Works great for us and pretty stout as well.

Fyi the lid lox will farkle you great:firstplace:. & if helmet was more than 5yrs old, you needed a new one anyway. (Factoid)

That is not really true anymore. You don’t have to replace the newer helmets but you should purchase a newer helmet with removable liners and replace the inside padding when needed.

You must have a really small head. I cannot get my Arai in the trunk or side cases. After 64 years of riding ( the first 20 without a helmut) I have never had anything stolen including my helmut. I guess it pays to ride a Harley with a "Patched Club" for most of it. Always left jacket, vest and helmut on bike.

Jack

Hi Jack!
Try the right side storage compartment...
Lay your helmet in there on it's side: Neck-end goes in first, with the faceshield facing forward...

People do suck :sour:

This is what we use on our F3's
