• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Repairing a HF ATC lift.

I bought a used one of these and it worked great for some time, but when I tried to use it for something else it doesn't lift. Not too many parts, so I'm assuming the jack either blown o-rings or low/out of hydraulic fluid. Anyone worked on these or just throw it away and get another one?

Check the fluid level and add if it's low, if it's not low try bleeding it. You'll need hydraulic fluid if it's low.

Cant you just replace the hydraulic jack? I have done this on my MC jacks that I use. Its probably better than taking a chance the hydraulic jack is going bad..

How would you bled it?
Find the fluid fill plug on the side and remove it, with one foot hold the release lever down, with your other foot or hand pump the foot pedal until you get all the air out. Check and refill fluid as needed, put plug back in. Wham bam thank you mam!

update

Well, I tried everything and it appears to be shot. looked for a replacement ram, no way, so bought another one at HF.

BTW Sears/Craftsman sell the EXACT same lift for $130 vs $90, same look except paint color. Same diagrams in manual, BUT they include 2 1" ratchet straps to hold the bike to the lift. They also have no replacement parts. Seems that anything under a couple hundred dollars is a throw away now.
