Moose Visit To Our Yard

The local Moose family stopped by this morning to harvest my three apple trees. They ate all the apples. Since they are the sour variety--it was all okay.

All three feasting at the apple tree. Had to take the picture facing into the sun. Momma was snorting a bit, so I did not feel comfortable going any closer.

thanks for the great pics... I use to hunt in Wyoming for moose... only managed to bag one in 6 years.... and you have them walking around in your yard..

Hope the North to Alaska group finds these. We went on a couple Moose Hunting rides and we saw not a one. I was beginning to think that they were thinking I was feeding them a line of rhetoric.

Here (above pictures) the moose are standing next to the fence where we took a great group photo. :roflblack:

The group is where the Moose were photographed. The three apple trees are to the right of and in front of the power poles.

It was bad enough finding moose in the middle of the road during our NtA ride, finding them in your back yard would have throw a crimp in the party. Besides, they would've eaten all the good food and left us with nothing.

Believe it or not, I do not hunt. I actually don't like the taste of wild game--apple stuffed or not. :roflblack::roflblack: I shoot em with my camera if I get the chance though.

moose is the best wild game meat I have ever eaten.. and I have had venison, antelope, elk and most of the small game ..

I really tried people. Went to a wild game banquet where everything was supposed to have been prepared according to Hoyle. Caribou, elk, moose, and bear (YUK). I took samples of all.

I guess I am a tough conversion case. :roflblack: No problem here with my opinion. Eat em if you got em. The banquet lamp is lit. :yes:

Bear can be a bit of a "Challenge", if it's not the right bear, or if it's not properly prepared...nojoke
Ideally; you want a small one in the 200 pound range... They're tender, and the hormones haven't had a chance to do it's thing to the flavor! :barf:
When in doubt; marinate it! :thumbup:
