Hell of a good idea. I honk the horn about half the time I’m trying to operate the turn signals.

Got mine and used it last weekend. Lots of 'activations' thru traffic and the cancel worked without false signaling. Great improvement!

Got mine also. Have to force my way into the storage area to try it

I do that too! So embarrassing.

I've got Dave's button and pad. Due to my fondness for Anti-Slip material, see post 37, I added anti slip to the Turn Signal button. For me, wearing gloves (ATGATT) it's now even easier to find the button. I really appreciate the excellent feel for the switch's -center- to cancel. The shift pad also makes operating it a bit easier. GOOD JOB Dave! YAY 3D printing!

Howdy do to all,
Newbie here. Been riding many years, quite a few bikes.
I thought it was my old, arthritic fingersˇ
Dumb question #5472: How hard is the install, for an older fart?
And, I missed any 'how to get' info. Was that in the OP?

Hi, I just received my signal button and shifter pad. I immediately swapped out the button and was very impressed by how such a small mod could make such a big difference to ME. One of life’s little annoyances taken care of. Many thanks to TCBoone and Frogman Dave.

Dave is brilliant to work with. Requested both, and being shipped to me. Lovely stuff, that.

I was able to get about 50 miles in on Sunday. Put the turn signal button on, and all I can say is this is how it should have been from the factory. A little annoyance has been corrected. I'll get the shift pad on before my next ride.

This is a must have addition to every Spyder. It’s amazing how much difference 2 small replacement/additional parts can make.
Thank you Dave for thinking of and making the parts, and you TC for letting us know about them.

I've been around for a while, but no post. I have been fighting this for about 2 years and finally a solution. Sending TC a PM soon.

Update Shifter Pad
Installed the shifter pad and went for a ride on one of our favorite routes here in northern California. You know the kind that has a mix of tight and long sweeping turns along with lots of frequent elevation change. The type of road that encourages spirited riding, requiring one to shift up and down the gears to keep the Spyder in its peak power band.
During the ride I noticed my left hand was in a more relaxed position. The added thickness of the up-shifter pad allows the thumb to reach the control to upshift from a less extended reach. Anytime we engage in a repeat motion, designing better ergonomics makes a difference, especially over time.
BRP builds beautiful machines, that has been improved upon over the years, some of those improvements most likely have come from owners. While the mods we are trying out are only slight changes, they are definite improvements and something that Can Am On Road should consider for their new production models.
Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback about these mods. Appreciate this forum to be able to share these ideas along with each comment and kind words.
Thank you for reading and posting,
TC

Mine came today. Much needed little additions. Makes you think the test people are all 19, and slim, with no arthritis-riddled fingers (mine from guitar playing for over 45 years).

Someone looked at making something better and came up with it! Got the upgraded turn switch button yesterday and tried it out. Good job. I noticed how sensitive the switch control can be when changing lanes in traffic on my 2020 RTL and now on my 2022 F3L. Now, the sensitivity is gone. Bravo.
-
Installed this re-engineered turn signal "button" and while riding today noticed that it just, worked and felt better... In heavy traffic when switching from lane to lane, it gives a more relaxed feeling not having to check to make sure signal cancelled correctly.

This innovation is getting a lot attention and kudos, ya think BRP might be paying attention? I know I'm getting a bit tired of the OEM failure, and so, I'll be looking at it.

Yes agree, after coming across a solution it only seemed natural that others were dealing with it too. Would be helpful if BRP would adopt the mods.

I have more trouble with the horn button than the turn signals. The more you ride the better the OEM TS button works. I always have to look down for the horn button, as it is seldom used. However with a second horn paralleled with the OEM one and tuned to a deeper tone, the trike sound like a car when I do hook it.

I installed the signal button and really like the way it performs!
Very easy and solid when canceling signals between lane changes.
