Here in Vermont, we had another round of "historic flooding" in the Northeast Kingdom (near the Canadian Border) and in other places in Vermont last night, one of the towns that is in the Northeast Kingdom was hit very hard by flooding and road washouts. The town got at least 5 inches of rain, and several of the roads were washed out, several houses and businesses were destroyed. Also, in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont one of the trails (which is used year-round for walking, running, biking, & snowmobiling in winter was hit very hard).
***** Would people do a stop-the-rain dance for Vermont - we don't need any more rain. This past month the State of Vermont has seen enough rain, flooding, and wet, etc. *****
After yet another round of historic flooding in the Northeast Kingdom, there is no relief in sight in the future. More showers & thunderstorms with possibly flooding rains continue to come at us over the next few days.
Those showers and thunderstorms during this Tuesday evening will be settling down a bit overnight. But an even more active weather day is on tap for Wednesday, as a frontal system moves through with widespread thunderstorm activity that again could bring locally heavy downpours that could lead to more flooding.
After that frontal system goes by, things will settle down for Wednesday night and into the day on Thursday, although there could still be a few lingering showers.
Friday will be the best bet for having a dry day, but it will be hot & humid. The Heat index - the "feels-like" temps - could be in the upper 90's, which is approaching dangerous heat.
Then we go right back at it again for the weekend, where we could, once again, be looking at flooding rains from thunderstorms that could bring heavy downpours. That will be coming along with a cold front which will finally knock down the temps and humidity as we head into next week.
They have issued flood warnings for Clinton, New York, Franklin New York.
Also, they have issued flood watch for Coos New Hampshire & Grafton New Hampshire from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.
What - Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
Where - Eastern Clinton and Eastern Essex in Northern New York, and all of Northern and Central Vermont.
When - from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.
The current temp is 75 degrees & partly cloudy; the feels-like temp is 75 degrees; Humidity 85%; and Dew point is 70 degrees.
***** Also, would people send prayers for all those who are dealing with the flooding here in Vermont *****
I am not affected by the flooding, I am safe!
