An update on the storm cell that went over our home two nights ago. It eventually turned into a class 1 tornado which struck and did damage to homes in Pindell, about 20 miles East of us. Next time there is a T-storm in the middle of the night, I will be turning on the weather alert radio right away. Had it not moved on, we would have been in the middle of it.

Current temp in Vt.is 34 degrees. Today's temp was in the 40's partly cloudy.

At the end of this week they are forecasting a more significant storm system will impact the area on Wednesday night into Friday morning. Snow is likely Wednesday night into Thursday morning, which may be moderate to heavy at times. The morning commute on Thursday will likely be slippery. A quick 4 to 8 inches of snow is possible during that time. Lighter snow will continue Thursday, possibly mixed with sleet. Snow showers will continue Thursday night into Friday morning, then taper off during the afternoon. The chance for snow showers will continue Saturday, along with colder highs in the 20s. Winter is not over yet!

Where I was, we hit that same number of degrees yesterday (Sunday) & today (Monday), only our 39 didn't have an F after it, but rather a C!! Still, the temperature has already dropped to 18°C before a bit cooler day tomorrow, altho cos it's summer here, later this week it looks like we'll be back into the mid 40's (°C) again... Then just to keep us on our toes and make sure we don't get too complacent, the rain's supposed to back with us from Friday and next week looks like it'll be low 20's again!?!

The weather's all over the place atm, but I gotta say we are getting some really nice days in between the Extreme Fire Danger Bushfire Warnings & the Flood Watches?!? :banghead: And on every fine day we get, the local Council fellas are out there madly laying fresh chip-seal over the top of the flood damaged & lifting or burnt & melted bitumen & all the resulting ginormous pot-holes! :yikes: Good thing I don't have much else to complain about, innit?!? :p

70 and sunny. I am going to do a little ride. sshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

.

50* F. Most of my street is still covered in Ice but the rest of the area is clear. YES, another snow storm is predicted for tomorrow night through Thurs morning. Not a big one but still snowing in the last half of Feb.

The current temp is in Vt. is 41 cloudy. This is the last full week of Feb.! Which will be featuring alot of weather action especially towards the end of the week.
A weak cold front will sweep through from West to East on President's Day with just a few scattered rain and snow showers- just a dusting to an inch of snow in the higher elevations, mainly in the northern part of the state.

Tuesday will start with sunshine in the morning, but a little heftier cold front will come through mid - to late afternoon with some snow, about 1-3 inches of snow in most spots, but a bit more in the higher elevations, especially in the southern areas of VT. It will clear out on Tuesday night.

Wednesday will be partly sunny, but it will be the Calm before the storm. A potent system will move in on Wednesday night with a pretty good hit of snow. The Thursday morning commute is looking slow and challenging. Snow will persist through Thursday, Thursday night, and into the day on Friday. There may be some sleet & freezing rain for the southern part of the VT.

Then we will get snow showers that will be going into Friday, especially in the mountains. It will be turning blustery and very cold on Friday and Friday night. Temps will be dropping below zero in many locations by Saturday morning and wind chills could become dangerously low.

At this point it is looking like a widespread 4 to 8 inches of snow from this storm for most of us in VT. but there are some indications that could be higher.

The weekend is looking a bit unsettled in a wintry sort of way, Saturday will feature some sunny breaks, but also the chance for a few snow showers, especially in the day.. There will be a better bet for snow showers on Sunday.

Beautiful Sunny 75 degree day here in the desert S.W. Today all the old people flocked to the golf course, swimming pool, and walking lanes in our community. BUT..... We're in for a BIG change. By Wednesday it will be 20 degrees cooler with 40-50 MPH winds and rain. The mountains surrounding the valley could see 70+ mph gusts and lots of blowing snow. There is a storm bearing down on us from the north. And another storm coming in from the south. They will collide over Arizona and bring us "hot chocolate" weather for a day or two. Stay safe..... We had heavy rain and wind in the early morning to mid-morning hours here in the desert S.W. Currently it's 51 degrees and headed for a high of 56. The wind is blowing 26 MPH and it is now partly sunny. One hundred mile to the north and east of us are experiencing winter blizzard conditions. Good for the snow pack which we will need this summer but bad for travelers. A piece of metal facia on the lady's house across the street from me has blown off her house. This is the 3rd time in the last year this has happened. The person she has "fixing" it needs to find a new line of work! Stay safe..... Jim

The current temp in VT, is 23 Clear, We have a winter storm warning out tonight from pm this evening until pm Thursday( 2/23/2023), They are forecasting heavy snow with total snow accumulations of 7 to 12 inches of snow. Where Portions of Northern New York, and most of Vt. From 7 pm to night to 1pm EST Thursday. Impacts Travel will be very difficult, especially during the Thursday Morning commune. Additional Details...... A period of heavy snow with snow fall rates of 1 -2 inches per hour will occur tonight, before tapering off to a light wintery mix on Thursday....Prayers for those who may be in the winter danger areas of the USA. A friend in Michigan has a lot of snow on the ground. I joking said 'it's not my snow so you can keep it '.
Anyhow enjoy your Snow and Stay Warm.

Currently raining here in Indiana at 51°F. Going to be a sunny day and some clouds in the afternoon.
High today 60°F with sunshine and some clouds.
Low at 23°F.

Stay Healthy. ....

.

Blowing and drifting snow here in the mountains above Reno, Nv. About 4 to 6" now and much more to come in the next few days. Snowblowers will really get a workout in the next few days (like they haven't this winter). Lakes are filling fast in Cal. The federal watermaster will have to lower lake Tahoe in prep for the spring runoff (which will be huge). Reminds of the winter of '17 where we had unprecedented snow falls.

I wonder if the climate is changing...........

Lew L

PS: 370+ inches of snow this year at Mt Rose/ski Tahoe TOTAL this year ( that's 30 FEET.)
