• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi, guys
RTS 2010 all problem relate to the service bulletin fix and recall.

Throttle body (Warranty)
33000km 1 new rear tire
36000km 2 new front tire

Fix at the dealer 1200$ Can. + some new grommet , grease fitting and time
42000km 2 new front ball-joint
1 new rear bearing & seal bearing
1 new air compressor for suspension
Belt have some loose

I think it's not cheap owning a Spyder. And also at 87$/hour labour time , i think they cost lot of time just to undress Spyder. Now let talk to my wife :chat: to let her know how much i spend in 1 day. I tell her i will do all the repair and when compressor went out i give up and let dealer fix it.

2012 Spyder RT Limited - INFO.

2012 Spyder RT Limited - Lava Bronze Metallic with black seat
Purchased new March 2013.
Current mileage: 4600

Issues I had the dealer (Tech) address:

1. Vibration issue is driving us (both my wife and I) crazy. We completed a 1500 mile trip from St. Paul, MN to Rapid City, SD. At interstate speeds, had vibration going up small grades - starting around 72 mph and sustaining until 82 mph. Dealer had it for a week and Tech drove it 22 miles. Made it worse!! Now vibrates starting at 55 mph. So bad at times, wife takes her feet off passenger floor boards. I have highway pegs which makes it less noticable for me. :cus::cus: VIBRATION. Next step is that I will adjust the tension with a Krikit gauge (I am concerned the Tech tighted the heck out of the drive belt). AND....will add a smoothspyder tension idler. Hope that works!
2. Glove box stopped locking about 1 week after I got it. Tech fixed it, cable came loose at switch area.
3. High amount of gas smell, both with a full and low level tank of gas. Tech checked, no leaks. He "instructed" me to not fill the gas tank up to "full". This is a problem as I am getting poor MPG which now makes the range even lower.
4. MPG is miserable. On the 1500 mile trip, averaged between 20 - 25 mpg. My all wheel drive Chevy Equinox gets better mileage that that!

Other than that, it's great to ride and we do enjoy it even though we have had issues. The real "deal breaker" for us is the vibration issue. The Tech "schooled" me in that he said belt tension and alignment is a customer responsibility and that he spent a lot of time on it in which the dealership will be eating the cost because BRP would not warranty it! WOW....if a major vibration is NOT a warranty issue, what is???? I am concerned as I bought an extended warranty and if BRP is playing games with warranty, then I wasted my money on extending the warranty. I wonder what the experience is with all other spyderlovers in terms of BRP support of warranty on their fixes????

Enjoy your :spyder2: be safe and happy ridin' :2thumbs:

2010 Black RT SE

So many threads about problems, seems to make the RT look like its nothing but trouble. Of course thats the nature of the beast on these forums, so lets see who really does not have any issues. (BTW: this thread offers an exclusion to the law of murphy that states: "as soon as you say you dont have problems, you have problems the next day..."

What year, model, how many miles, and what problems if any have you had? (if no problems, put it in CAPS)
I'll go first, but I have not had mine long.

2012, RTS, 400 miles, NO PROBLEMS

6500 miles, losing oil for a while, chalked it up to not knowing how to ride properly. No probs lately, except it is so friggin hot in Fla, the fans come on and the heat hits my inner thighs. Not the best for 90+ degree florida heat, but it is just awesome from October through May!!!
