• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Your Spyder - What Year, Model, Miles, Issues... ??

So many threads about problems, seems to make the RT look like its nothing but trouble. Of course thats the nature of the beast on these forums, so lets see who really does not have any issues. (BTW: this thread offers an exclusion to the law of murphy that states: "as soon as you say you dont have problems, you have problems the next day..."

What year, model, how many miles, and what problems if any have you had? (if no problems, put it in CAPS)
I'll go first, but I have not had mine long.

2012, RTS, 400 miles, NO PROBLEMS

2011, RTS, with a clear view of 9k miles, NO PROBLEMS (other than those newbie caused issues and riding in this blasted heat (P0127)).

2010 RT - 19.400 miles - new front-shocks of the 2011 - new rear shock on guarantee - 2 x new rear tire and rear brake-pads - lot of petrol & lot of fun - never a limb-mode ..

2010 RTS, 2500m, Battery Died after 2 weeks (I bought in Oct 2011, so it was sitting for quite awhile, not unexpected given that). Dealer replaced and no problems since

Must be nice to be problem free 2013 RT 3 weeks old from day one no cruise control and water in my cluster lens....within the first 300 mi. 2 stalls at stop signs one engine over temp & limp mode cleared by shutting down and restarting. All minor so far hopefully it stays that way. Haven't ridden it 7yrs so it is good to be back on a seat and handlebars. I won't say a bike because it simply isn't one it is in a class of it's own. I tell people it is like riding a 100mph ATV with a lot of cool features. ;)

2010 RTS. Almost 18,000 miles, NO PROBLEMS. most people have the newbie problems of how to learn the machine. They always seem to overreact to everything. Foot riding on the brake pedal: OMG got a limp mode:shocked: ! wonder why? A lot of noise is made on forums by folks shooting from the hip before really checking the issue out. Yes there are problems, as with any new product ,but it is not as wide spread as people make it out to be. Yes there is heat on the right side, ever ride a two wheeler with a large V Twin between your legs? (this doesn't apply to the recent heat issues with the 2013 ST's), again it's a new product, it will get worked out.

Not much of a statistic for me since I just got mine 3 weeks ago.

2011 RT-S, 1200 miles, no issues at all so far (knock on wood).
600 mile service done at 900 miles and got a clean bill of health and also software updates.

2010 RT A&C...
Throttle Body
Throttle position sensor
MP 3 player wiring harness
Windshield vertical positioning bracket
But I wouldn't trade it for anything! :2thumbs: ;)

2013 RT 1,042 miles, No Real Problems, added new swaybar took care of most of the handling problems.

2013 RT-S se5,5100miles, only problem is electric frunk lock stopped working key works fine but electric not so fine. I'm sure it's minor thing bike goes to shop on Tuesday.. picked up bike on 06-01-13. and just love my bike..would never trade it!!!
