• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sadly Passed Oct 2024 - RIP
Was shopping at WallyWorld and spied Racks of RIBS in the meats bin ...... they had some from " Smithfield " a brand I like , but they weren't classified ( like baby back, or St.Louis etc ) just RIBS ( pork of course ) ....@ .....$ 1.88 per lb.___ so I got 4 1/2 lb for less than $9.00 ( how bad could they be ) ......... I cut 1/3 of it into ribs, put them in my " Crock pot " poured in a can of Coke some ground Ginger, Garlic powder, salt & pepper ..... set on high for an hour .... turned down to medium / low for 5 hrs ........ drained what was left of the liquids , bolied that down & made a BBQ sauce from that ............. The RIBS were ....KILLER .... soooooooooooooo tender and very tasty with just a touch of salt ............ but with the BBQ sauce they were fantastic ...... Add some beans and cole slaw ....you could easily feed 6 people ....... I'm camping at the Fairgrounds and am reallllllllllllllllllly considering bringing my " crock pot ". Walmart has a supercenter near Best Western Coach Hse .....Sooooooooooooooooo ... Mike :bbq::bbq::bbq::bbq:

Barbecue?

I wish there was a way of emailing comments and stories to other people. Your preparation of ribs, sounds great. But it's something that I would not have thought of, so I wanted to share it.

And I am here to tell you THE TRUTH

So, Mike, did you braise the ribs before putting them in to slow cook?

And, is a " crock pot " anything like a Crock-Pot? :dontknow:

CROCK - POT

So, Mike, did you braise the ribs before putting them in to slow cook?

And, is a " crock pot " anything like a Crock-Pot? :dontknow:
Patti , my " crock - pot " is an old West Bend 6 qt. very basic model ...... could hold 12 lbs maybe more of ribs ..... and no I didn't " braise " them first .... ( I think you meant " brown " as in saute' ) ..... 1/2 hr. or so before I serve , I drain off all juices, reduce that and use that as a Base for my Home Made :bbq:sauce. I let folks ADD their own choice of Heat products if they desire ....... I'm cooking about 3lbs as we speak ........ Dee will be here to test it out :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: ........ Mike .....Update 7:00 pm well I couldn't get Dee to say anything about the Ribs ...... she wouldn't stop EATING :roflblack: :2thumbs:  ..... but She was :dg1:between bites .... I'll take that as Yes vote
