• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

XM Satellite radio on ST?

ARCTIC

Evidently the satellite radio add-on doesn't work on the ST? Seems strange they would make 2 types of radio units but maybe they do :dontknow: Has anyone tried adding satellite radio?

Satellite radio on ST?

Yes it will, sometimes....
I have it and I'm not even a little bit happy with it, it keeps cutting in an out depending on where I'm at and I having trouble changing stations. Insult to injury, when my contract is done the subscription rate doubles. That wasn't mentioned when I signed up last October.:banghead:

We had it in our Mercury and put about 7000 miles traveling around the country 2 years ago and except for tunnels we didn't have any trouble at all with it. I didn't know about the rate increase because we canceled the subscription before it expired.

I keeping my eye open for a used CAN AM RADIO, one that works please.

From what I see on the BRP web site is the Satellite radio is only for the RT's. I have a Sirius 7 and I mounted it to the handlebars. Routed the cables through the same hole the GPS cables go through and down to the audio Aux outlet in the frunk. The antenna is right above it and I have a yearly deal which saves me 2 months. The picture shows the left side where I used a Rivco drink holder mount and with some RAM peices, it works great.

I did about the same thing; only I've got an Onyx, and I mounted it in the rear trunk. (RT here; same principles apply...)
Plugged it in, and it's good to go!

I rode about 150 miles today, my Satellite radio worked more then it didn't. I was in open farm land.
Is your unit run through the bikes radio?
Do you have an external antenna.
After about 5 hours the battery died, how long does your battery last.

Thanking you in advance for your response.

Two things - Those of us that have RS' or ST's (like me) seem to believe that the Satellite radio FOR THE RT's won't work on our(my) bike. That's why we're going with a car radio.

The short cable is because the car satellite radios come with 15' of cable so you can mount the antenna on the roof. We don't have that need and since the antenna is right next to the radio unit the short cable is way better.

This help?

Yes. Thank you. I'm just amazed that my ST limited has a radio and that it would be a different tuner/brain box than the RT's :dontknow:

I don't know where you got that from. The ST and RT both have the same radio. Part number 710003552.

Wow I just looked at the prices. $535 for the satellite kit and the entertainment harness shows sold out but if I remember right it was about $150. That's $700 before you even install it.:yikes:

If you want satellite radio I would think the options others have done would be a lot cheaper.

I bet the reason is that the plug for the radio stuff on a st is in the frunk and the rt has the stuff in the trunk
