• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

XM question

OK...so I'm building my RT a peice at a time. Now I'm thinking of adding satilite radio. Here's my question: For those with factory and those who have added their own....advantages of each? Could you add you own and have it integrate same a factory?

I have a 2010 RT and the XM factory option was not available. I have been looking and searching to find a relatively inexpensive way to get XM....I totally love XM...found the GPS with XMaround $700 and then to get the BRP one it was like $1000.00....OUCH!!! Then I tried the XM Skydock which you "dock" your ipod..get the Skydock app and all is suppose to be great...did not work well for me...yes I got reception but twisting and turning the SkyDock in an already full trunk was less than ideal for me. BUT drumroll please I got the answer and plugged it in today and WOW< WOW...Had to go on a 200+ mile ryde rocking out all the way....Got the Onyx Vehicle XM from the XM website...$35.00 everything you need...simply plug in...attach the magnet antenna to the nut on the left inside of back trunk, plug into 12v...select tne away you go...there is a monthly charge for any XM radio. I would highly recommend this. But when I get my new RT in 2015 I will have factory installed XM...much easier to use..no extras to mess with...
Even my non techie brain got this working easily....

Garmin 665

The Garmin 665 has xm and I used an RF transmitter to put the signal into the regular radio on the 2010 RT... It just plugs into the factory mount on the Limited (I mounted the antenna with Velcro since I use the rig in the cage)

The BRP Xm package is stereo and the Garmin 665 hookup through the factory hookup is not stereo. I have both on my RTS. I added the 665 first and then added the BRP Xm package for the stereo. Bob
