• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

XM MP3 Player

Bought the hand held unit online from XM/ Sirius radio.
Thought it would be a nice portable option for the road.
Unfortunately, I do not get any reception in the house and get fade in and out on the road. The sound quality is nothing like an IPOD.
I was disapointed in XM for putting out an inferior product.

Oops, I may not have the same one. Mines the Sirrius Stilletto line. I thought that they were all the same setup. Mine has the earbud headphones. It works well for general outdoor portability but won't work worth a darn with a helmet for obvious reasons.

Lamonster,
If you are using an I-phone app. I've heard that it works from the phones wireless browser. Basically you are listening on-line?
Isn't that expensive?
Just wundering.

It's $30 per month for unlimited data on the iphone anyway so all it's really costing is the $3 bucks a month for the upgraded service.

That's remarkable!!!
In Canada I pay 50 bucks a month for 2 tin cans and a ball of string!! (o.k. it's a pretty big ball)
One advantage though, is that if your call gets dropped all you do is bend over and pick it up again!

i tried sirius on iphone and it's water down version at same price as regular service...

I use Pandora and it works great but I like my xm too. I had two xm radios at one time and when mine got wasted by rain my wife let me have her's and I canceled my radio. Now for $3 bucks more a month I can give her radio back and just use my iphone for my xm. It may not work everywhere like the radio does so that may be the only issue.:dontknow:

if you already have sirius/xm and wanna use iphone also that will be worth it but to pay 13 bucks just to use iphone and get water-down version i don't think so. i do miss listening to stand up comics on sirius thou:(

Yup, I used Pandora on the ride out to LA and back. I had service for most of the ride so it was kind of like having XM radio without the additional expense.

siruis stilletto

If you figure a way to hook up the antenna on the chad mount for the windshield (magnet on antenna) and mount the radio on visor or handle bars then all you need is ear buds for the radio to under the helmet no problem on reception. Good Luck
