• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

WOW . . . what a long time to hold one's breath . . . .

I finally got my Utopia backrest installed!!! What a great addition to the :spyder2: especially for my aging back!!!

Took me a while to accomplish the task but hey, I am not the brightest bulb in the pack!

Anywho, if I can do it . . . . anyone can!!! :ohyea:

Let's ryde!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got mine about 5pm the day before leaving MV so guess what I did. Installed it before the trip works great. Install not hard

Utopia back rest is nice. That was my first accessory on the RTS.

I ended up going to a Corbin seat a bit later so now have both flavors of seats and backrests.

They sure look nice. It must be really hard though to poke a hole in your seat. :yikes:

That WAS the first issue! Getting past that... aligning the holes for the bolts was second, but they give several hints for that in their instructions.

That was my biggest problem... Just sticking a knife into a perfectly good seat was un-nerving!!... But I love the backrest.. Thanks Utopia... and Mark Larson for getting Utopia the right setup!:ohyea:

:yikes: I have to go and throw up now... Has anybody actually had a dealer install one? I'm wondering how many hours they charge for taking away the stress of the install...

At SpYderFest, Cowtown had it down to a science

The techs at Cowtown installed Teddy's in all of about 20 minutes:thumbup: Tho they had much experience as they installed many of them that day. So, a regular dealer shouldn't charge more than an hour for labor, would be my guess

:2thumbs:Totally worth the cost & looks OEM :2thumbs:

Bob, I had my dealer install my Utopia backrest when they unpacked my RT. I had Utopia ship the backrest to the dealer and they installed it along with my GPS, CB, XM radio, and Kuel footrest. I do not know how long it took the techs to install all of this. My deal was if I ordered all accessories to be installed when unpacking BR1, I would get a 15% discount on all items including labor, so it was a out the door package. It worked for me.

I have two tools in my toolbox...a 12" #2 phillips head and a 12# sledge hammer. :ohyea:

:spyder2:

We have something in common BR... I'm only allowed access to 2 tools as well!
Duct Tape and WD 40:
If it moves and shouldn't; I grab the Duct Tape
If it doesn't move and should; I grab the WD 40! :roflblack:
