• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wow. Close call before heading out for Durango

Been packing tools, gear and clothing. Then mowed the yard and finally rode the RT up to the gas station to fill up (after a 10 mile or so detour ;)).

Upon arriving at the station and filling up, I smelled burning plastic. Oh no. Not now please!!

Filled up with fuel and went home. Pulled off the left Tupperware and found that a plastic wire tie had come loose and it along with the plastic wire loom had gotten against the head pipe. Luckily no damage to any wires, I caught it soon enough.

Cut a small piece of new loom and double secured it to the frame, away from the pipe. Used a scraper to clean off excess plastic, and now I am ready to head out for Cuba in the morning.

I feel like I got really lucky and glad I took a detour long enough to initiate melting. Else, I may have had issues on the road.

Thank you Lord!!!!

Glad that it was nothing major, or hazardous. I'm thinking smelling burning plastic, then filling up and ryding home, then investigating the burning smell, may have gone in reverse priority.

Happy that it turned out to be something minor. Can't imagine melting that new paint job. :doorag:

Ride Safe.

I Agree too

Great that you caught that before you left. You guys be safe. You know, I just might be "REAL" hungry by the time you get back. I'm already looking forward to another run. See ya.

I hear ya Don, but I was only a couple of blocks from home at that time and no tools! They were all packed in the trailer ;).

Driving down the road yesterday I smelled burning rubber, that sinking feeling set in and I was about to pull over to check things when a guy a couple of cars ahead pulled over with a flat.
