• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Would you like a "Shake" with those fries?

They were about 100 miles closer to the epicenter than you. When it does that kind of damage you aren't moving around. It always cracks me up when they make movies about earthquakes that people are running around. Of course they are just shaking the camera and having things fall down. Not anywhere near the same thing.

You can run around before and you can run around after a bad earthquake but you can't go anywhere during one. It will simply knock you down. Believe me, been there, done that.

Though it is true that in 3rd world countries or even in our country (North Ridge Earthquake for example) where older buildings (especially brick) come down realitively easy, you may be able to move during one of them.

Been in Cali over 10 years now, still haven't felt a single one.... go figure. I'd rather an earthquake over a tornado any day (I'm originally from the mid-west).

We had a few small ones here in Jersey last month. Back in the early 70s
we had a few good shakes.[Ramapo fault] I was in Japan in the 60s the ground shook almost every other day, it reminded me where i grew up in Brooklyn under the ''El'' :D

I spent 53 years in San Diego County and I agree. I've been in several earthquakes and I much prefer them over tornado's.

So true. I was in Woodland Hills (1 mile away) for the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. Boy, talk about something different for an ole Texas boy. :yikes:

Agreed!!! I too spent several years in the midwest, as well as a few years in Florida..... I still get spooked just thinking about those green skies and funnel clouds . . . :yikes:

Glad to see Lamonster & family 'rode' it out without casualty

I've live in southern Indiana for over 50 years. I've never seen a tornado, but I have felt 3 earthquakes. Go figure.
