• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Worried

The loudest people seem to be remembered the most on forums.

Count me in as another one of the Spyder owners that have several thousand miles under my belt, and no complaints. I previously owned the 2013 RTS, and absolutely loved that thing, and it was even better when they added the air scoops for better heat management. I currently own the 2016 F3T and love it so much, I commute to work in Atlanta traffic, and arrive much happier than my "cager" counterparts.

The only time I post on here is if I feel I have something of value to add… Like figuring out a technical issue with an accessory. Otherwise I'm just a lurker on here, and have often used the information and guidance other forum members have provided with great success and satisfaction, but don't necessarily take the time to post replies/thanks, which I probably should do. I'm too busy riding!

The one thing that I am impressed with BRP … If there is an issue that needs to be corrected, they have no problems issuing a recall. Something I understand my Harley Davidson – riding friends rarely get to experience.

I've been riding Spyders for four years now and I'm so happy I found these machines. Today was yet another four hour, 200-mile adventure with the smoothest machine I've ever jumped on.

I think the length of everyone else's responses should show how happy we are as owners!

Thanks for your post

I want to thank all fellow Spider riders that replied to my post. Your comments were very helpful to me and I'm sure to others. Neil

Had my spyder now for 5-years and 34,200 miles. Only went back into shop for first oil change and check over @ 600 miles. Do all my own oil changes and servicing plus tire changing and change brake shoes. Will be changing battery today just because it is 5 years old but had no problems.
All information as to "How to" is from Spyder Lovers forum, great info and a great machine.

Love my Spyder

I've had a couple of problems here and there, learning where to go for maintenance helped. I complained on the forum about my windshield lifter breaking; some one on the forum told me where to get a better part so that won't happen again.

I've ridden to South Dakota & to Nova Scotia (from Michigan). Still loving my Spyder. :f_spider:

My Honda had few problems, and it was easier to work on. I'd say it was even between the Spyder and the Honda. The difference was I understood the Honda a little more. The Spyder has more storage, more power and I can take a quick nap on it while parked.

As I read through it I read horror stories about these Spiders breaking down. This is frighting to me, maybe because I'm coming from Honda's that didn't seem to have problems.

Worried? Don't worry.

I'm a new owner of a 2014 RT. Over the years I've been on many airplane and motorcycle forums. This seems to be a great spider forum. As I read through it I read horror stories about these Spiders breaking down. This is frighting to me, maybe because I'm coming from Honda's that didn't seem to have problems. So I'm looking for some stories that talk about how great the spider is. Does anyone have 50000 miles with no problems?
Thanks nerve-is Neil 73 years old. Ridden motorcycles for 60 years still going strong.

I'm trying to wear my 2014 RT-S SE6 out, but it just keeps going. Now have 106,740 miles. I still have the original drive belt. Glad I bought this machine. I, like many on this forum come from two wheels. I've owned 26 motorcycles, my first, a 1966 Honda 50 Sport and everything in between. This is my favorite. I love talking to others who may be interested in a Spyder. The 2014 RT model was the first to use the ACE 1330 three cylinder engine. I was concerned about a first year model, shouldn't have.
Enjoy your new RT, happy to hear from a new Spyder rider!
You're in Bryan? I'm in Zanesville, just down the road. Come on by and I'll show you some southeastern Ohio roads!

First of all, Neil.....BREATHE!!! Then check out the Thread "100,000 Miles" posted today at 03.59 PM by "SpyderAnn01" where she advises her 2014 RTS just turned over 100,000 MILES. Then sit back and chill............:ohyea:

The problem isn't problems with the Spyder. The problem is the Internet.

I was talking to my local Goldwing dealer a few years ago when I still had my Goldwing. He said in years past if 10,000 Goldwings were sold around the nation and only 1 in each state had a problem, you never heard about it. Now, if there are 10,000 Goldwings sold and one in every state has a problem all of a sudden everyone hears about the 50 Goldwings that have a problem. OMG, what's happening, is the Goldwing turning into junk? Nope, things are no worse than ever before, just more people know about the few problems there are.

The Spyder has never had the luxury of suffering problems in a communications void like the GW has. From day one every little problem has been broadcast like it's going to be the end of the world for riding!!

Concern yourself with the 'will be', not the 'might be', as in it will be fun, it will bring enjoyment, it will take you thousands of miles! Forget about that you might run out of gas, or have a flat tire, or have an engine blow up. Hell, you might even run off the road because of a heart attack! At our age (I'll be 73 in June) that's more likely than an engine busting down! You sure ain't going to let that keep you home, are you?

Let me chime with a comment, we also have 2014 RT-S with quite a few thousand miles on it and it has never left us on the side of the road. I have ALS and a breakdown would be extremely serious for me. Buy it and ride it; just keep up with the recommend maintenance like you did before.
