• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Works Performance Shocks on Order !

clueless

Works Performance Shocks INSTALLED (see below)

waiting the 2 or 3 weeks now for my Works Performance Shocks to come in.

got the PRO model but non-adjustable. for $100 more could have got rebound and $100 more fully adjustable. but like the Elkas no adjustment is needed once set up from the factory based on 3Ryder's experience. Also, they can tweak the set up but I don't see making changes later after I find the sweet spot.

went with WP shocks due to:

1. dual springs: a 300 lb and a 2nd higher rate spring. When the 300 lb is maxed the 2nd spring kicks in to keep the Roadster stable. when not needed you operate on the 300 lb spring mainly... so you get the best of both worlds.

2. has the external res. not prob needed but good to max the life of the internal shock fluid. also its mounted to the shock so no extra mounting or worry about the hose to the external reservoir.

3. Biggest thing was that they designed their shocks to be installed upside down like the stock shocks. so that the exposed shaft is up under the Spyder and not directly exposed like the Elkas. Yes I could put a shock cover on the Elkas but then they cover up the nice looks :(

4. looks wise these are polished aluminum body with powder coated light blue springs. you can get blue, black or white or for extra chrome springs

5. Oh yeah after install ... they do not affect the front end height. do not raise the front end any. I want to keep as low a center of gravity as possible...

so now the waiting :2excited:

they are not listed on their website yet:

thanks to 3Ryder for leading the way. they tested his RTS at the WP Factory to make sure the springs were correct and the design (ie. upside down shocks):

he has pics posted here of his install - http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showpost.php?p=253378&postcount=22
mine will be same but nonadjustable and have powder blue springs with black 2nd spring.

Pricing is: based off the PRO series and it billet aluminum. that is the only finish for the PRO series. All have the piggy back external reservoir
  • $1019 full adjustable (Rebound, Damping, ect)
  • $849 Rebound only adjustable
  • $749 non adjustable
I chose the $749 as I just don't see adjusting them when riding. plus shipping....

if you want to cut cost it is $100 less for the powder coated BLACK powder coated model non pro without the external reservoir.
$100 less then BLACK powder coated model for the STEEL body all black as well.

Those WP shocks sound great, Your Spyder should change dramaticly. Have Fun.

ok first ride with the new shocks. its subtle but they are much quicker for the front tire to come back into contact after a bump. less rebound damping which means it doesn't bound skip around as much over a multiple bump patched road...

plus it seems to keep stable on the turns. the OEM shocks seem to under sharp on or off ramps load up and then they want to release that energy too early before you exit the turn. these WP Shocks seem to behave much better and more predictable. you don't get this sudden unloading of the suspension as the OEM shocks.

of course it comes at a stiffer ride up front slightly but I already was at the max preload on the OEM shocks...

so far so good  they look identical to 3Ryders shocks but they have no adjustments other then preload. They came preset already from the factory with my preload and damping ect all preset based on my weight and passenger weight ect...

His are here. only difference is I got mine with the main large spring in a powder blue powder coat and the small 2nd spring in black. the powder blue looks great IMHO with the Spyder Blue. here is 3Ryders Shocks picture (shameless stealing of picture posted in other thread).
