Wondering About RT Interim Recall Notice

Most everyone knows that while the NHTSA investigation is still ongoing, there has been an interim recall notice that BRP has issued for the 2013 RT only. Copy here.

While I understand that the exact parameters of this recall have not yet been finalized (a Warranty Bulletin is expected within the next 90 days), I am wondering if anyone has any information about what the prescribed "fixes" are generally likely to be in this upcoming Warranty Bulletin.

Gray Ghost, I should have mentioned the other thread in the OP. What I was hoping for, by posting in this forum section, is that someone might know what this new recall is going to "fix" without all the speculation. I guess that either BRP has not yet told anyone, or that those "in the know" are keeping it under their hat for now. I sure would like to know what the impending recall on the 2013 RT's is going to do, though. It seems likely that BRP would not have put out the recent letter to owners and dealers unless they had a fairly definitive plan in mind - even if this was only intended to be an interim "fix" while the investigation is still underway.

Until BRP releases the information anything anyone says is merely speculation. Note that it was the official BRP poster who announced on this forum that the recall was coming before the letters and emails came out.

Well since BRP said they would start implementing in May, and there is no reason for me to believe otherwise, I'd say it is a pretty safe bet.

Mouthpiece, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you - just sayin' that with the right odds, I'd take you up on your offer to "put money on it". They may not have the parts to dealers by May, but at least I hope you're right that they will send out the actual recall notice by then. We're all anxious to know what it involves - especially those of us who own a 2013 RT.

As for "the letter", Here's the BRP interim notice, for those that have not received it. I haven't yet received my copy in the mail either. It does not state that this is a worldwide campaign, but I believe I saw another document on the NHTSA web site that does confirm that (and Steve from BRP posted that in the thread referenced above by Gray Ghost).

Go to the BRP website under recalls, put your VIN in and see if they have you slated for the recall. Nothing is going to happen until May according to BRP. Hopefully we will get more info before then. Lets just sit tight and be safe and enjoy our Spyders.

And I haven't received my letter yet either (I do have a 2013 RT-S, one of the first), BUT I'm not concerned about not receiving. I know I'll be a part of the campaign and it will occur in May.
