Wiring into the comfort seat??

My bike is new to me and while "looking" around the seat, I discovered a factory wired blue and red wires going from a plug right in front of the brake lights into the rear bottom of the seat. There are no switches to turn on any heat, so I'm wondering what these/this is for.

They go to a sensor and tell the computer if you have a passenger riding, if you do then the computer will allow more braking to the rear wheel.

Well, how clever of them to think about that.

The passenger sensor also work with the VSS system and the SE5 shifting(don't know about the SM5). That way you won't loose the passenger.
