• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wires on the 12V plug in the trunk

I'd like to tap into the wires that feed the 12V plug in the trunk. Has anyone done it for anything? How did you go about it? Looks like the back two panels need to come off??? I wanna put a switched, small LED light in the trunk of our 2016 RT

Spyderpops has one that plugs into the back outlet.

And it has an on/off switch. You will need to move a fuse to make it constantly hot. Directions on the fuse come with it. Literally a 2 min job to change. I've got one and love it.

Check this out, particularly posts 5 & 6. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...k-frunk-and-saddlebags!&highlight=trunk+light This was on my 2013 RT. On my 2014 RTS I wired in a mercury switch inside the trunk lid instead of the magnetic reed switches I show in this thread. The magnetic switch was not sensitive enough and the lid had to be closed all the way to turn the light off. With the mercury switch the lid has to be nearly all the way open to turn the light on. That way I can leave the trunk lid unlatched in the garage and not have the light stay on.

Somebody.................I'm thinking it was JCThorne, installed a light with a mercury switch so that the light went on automatically when the trunk lid was opened.

I guess it was just like your refrigerator light.............does it really go off with the lid closed....................

I guess you missed my comment in #5 above! :D Yes, the light does go off when the lid is closed. In fact it goes off as soon as the lid is about 1/4 of the way to being closed!
