• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wire connected to seat....?

2014 Spyder RTL has a wire bundle connected to the seat under the passenger, right side. Does this mean there is a heated seat? I only have controls for heated grips and they work fine but did not check to see if the seat heats up too. Just curious. This is Arid-Zone-A, it's 110 and heading for 115 today & I don't need any more heat on my rear.....:shocked:

:D We like to tell folks that it's for the passenger ejection function! :roflblack:
But it's actually there for a sensor that monitors for the presence of a passenger, and adjusts the front to rear brake bias accordingly. :thumbup:

That's the "Propel Thermite Torpedo" thingie, isn't it? :roflblack::roflblack:
It's supposed to be a "Push To Talk" button...
But it doesn't work right on my bike! nojoke
I NEVER push it, yet my Missus never stops talking anyway! :gaah:

I'm gonna call BRP, and have them open up a case file on this serious problem! :shocked:

That is a "pillion" sensor for the second ryder. If you happen to leave it unplugged, you will get a C1183 trouble code. No need to ask me how I know.........:opps::opps::opps::D

Bond...James Bond...:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

My cover has been compromised. Must have been caused by using my real initials in my moniker. The seat wiring made me think of my former Goldwing seat (now my wife's bike) that has a custom seat. It has a vibrator that was used by the (former) passenger to help with "back pain". Any passenger using the vibrator that starts to giggle would cause me to pull over and stop until they turned that darn thing off...:opps:

The switch turns on some LED's, but i wanted to have fun with it so designed that graphic, and had a printing company put it on the switch.

didn't see THIS among the various humorous answers.

The passenger seat sensor "enables" the passenger heated grips when the seat is occupied..

Don't know about the "load sensing suspension adjusting " thingy Bob D talked about, but I DO know about the grip enable.
