There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Heated Gerbing's - everything -jacket, over-pant, gloves & right down to boot liners. I have the controller Velcroed to the left pant leg. I stay nice & toasty. I don't like the cold - if it drops to the low 80s I reach for a sweater; 70s are definitely jackets; anything below that heated gear!
Unfortunately, Gerbing's doesn't carry all the items they used too - I believe now the only options are jacket and pant liners.

I'll second that one. With a First Gear liner from Baja Ron I took a ride on a balmy 36* day. The only other thing was a summer type leather jacket over it to keep the heat in and the wind off. Very comfy with only jeans, boots and heated hand grips, best hundred bucks you can spend on warmth.

Gerbing isn't even Gerbing anymore. Get Warm and Safe or First gear. They have it all.

I start riding up here after the bromide, salt are off the streets.
The outdoor temp is usually 36 to 40F.
The best vest, Pants are Harley Yes they cost a lot BUT I have individual t stat control for the vest and on for
the pants. I had the BRP dealer install the fused wiring. They came right from the battery.
The wiring harness was Harley as well.
Remember that the clothing is so good that you must pay attention to the outdoor road conditions namely black ice.

Gerbing is a German company that still sells in Europe. Their products are now produced and sold in the US under Gyde located in North Carolina.
Just had them specially make me several 4 ft long none coiled extensions to install the Gerbing "Panel Mounts" under the heated passenger grips on both mine and my wife's RT's.
already have the Panel Mounts installed for the rider on both.
The Harley heated gear and accessories are all made by Gerbing with the name Harley put on them. If you buy them from Gerbing (Gyde here in the US) direct next time you can save the mark up. Still not cheap but no mark up for adding the Harley name to it.
added: a number of years ago (20+) when Gerbing had a plant located in Union, Washington before they opened a plant in NC which is now Gyde. They actually made me a pair of heated gloves with a Specialty made right glove for my hand missing 2 fingers due to an industrial accident. Had me put my hand on a piece of paper and draw an outline, mailed it to them and they made me a glove to fit it.
Great company that still makes great products.
PS - Forgot to mention that most, if not all heated clothing companies apparel and controllers now interface with Gerbing's and a company by the name of "California Heating" now makes and sells heated clothing and controllers that also interface with Gerbing out of Gerbings old location in Union, Washington. In fact my wife and I just bought new jacket liners (ours were both at least 19 years old), from California Heat at the Motorcycle show in Cleveland (about 110 mies away from Erie), a few weeks ago. Prices were something like $200 or $210 marked down to $179 for the show and we bought two (1 liner each) for $300 total at the show or $150 per liner.
So if there's any upcoming "International Motorcycle Shows" coming to an area near you, there are deals to be made at them.

I have Glyde gloves, sold by Cyclegear, and they are fine. I was just stating a fact, not saying they were not good. However, many feel the quality is way down, and they do not honor lifetime warranties on older Gerbing gear.

As far as quality. We've never had a problem with any of their stuff and the wife and I have been using it for nearly 20 years. Although like I said. We both just bought California Heat jacket liners at the Cleveland motorcycle show to replace the Gerbing ones we've had since 1997. But haven't used the heated gloves since we switched from 2 wheels to the Spyder's a couple of years ago.
Again though Gyde. Which now sells Gerbing just made me Specialty ordered 4 ft long none coiled extensions just like Gerbing did with heated gloves nearly 20 hrs ago at no extra cost to me than the standard item. Not sure What other heated clothing company's out there would do that. And at no extra charge.

I don't think any good snowmobiling gear is cheap. Skimping there is never a good idea.
A lot of snow gear could also function well on the Spyder (think that's been said prior).

I recently purchased some flannel lined DuluthFlex fire hose pants from DULUTH TRADING COMPANY, and they are positively wonderful! They also offer ArcticCat. More expensive but if they work like my flannel lined, they would be fantastic.
