• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Winter Blues, very frustrated!

Seems I have a post winter problem.:opps:
Spyder was running great in the fall when we pulled it into storage, but my man child may have screwed up. He was winterizing all the "rec" vehicles which is drain the tanks and leave the caps off. Last winter I had filled the tank and added stabilizer, come spring it fired right up and the riding began. This year it started out fine and then went to crap.

Seems Mr. RT does not like this. When I went to go on my first post winter ride I got flashing limp mode and check engine lights. Run up the revs, and it bounces around. Get it to 1500, but walk away and then it dies.

Thought maybe man man child had not filled up the tank with high octane, or maybe had really screwed up and filled it with crap gas.

Filled up up the tank with premium and also added appropriate gas treatment, but still running like crap. Spring is here in the Midwest and I want to go on a road trip. Today's adventure is pulling codes, but the stuff is so intermitent that it may be dealer bound.

Thinking purge the tank, swap the fuel filter and start from scratch with real petrol.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

How "Bad"; does the fuel smell?
Stale gas has it's own unique stench to it...
If you catch a whiff of that; it's time to cuss a little, and then start draining things out... :gaah:

Orrrr.... Did you suffer rodent damage, up under the bodywork?? :yikes:

Nope, did see some blow by early on but now nothing.

Hard to say..!!

Not having codes to go by. Seems you covered the gas side of things. Did have some critters build a nest in the airbox which did make for bad running machine. But don't want to speculate. Hope it's something simple and your otta there in a flash...:gaah:
