I am curious how is the 28" F4 Clear windshield? I was planning to get the Blue Ridge windshield. I am 5'5, but I would rather look over it rather than through it. I like the Blue Ridge, because of the look on the bike.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am curious how is the 28" F4 Clear windshield? I was planning to get the Blue Ridge windshield. I am 5'5, but I would rather look over it rather than through it. I like the Blue Ridge, because of the look on the bike.
I am 5'4" and look over the blue ridge - just! The top of the screen is at the bottom of my eyeline, just a tad too tall for my liking. Am now using the gauge spoiler adjusted higher and so far so good. Would love to try the shorter route 129 screen but very costly for a 'trial'.
The F4 does not allow you to look over it for the most part. However, there is minimal distortion and so it is no big deal. Buffeting from the the BRP windshield was so bad that no amount of pleasing aesthetic could compensate for the bad design.

I'm with you. I personally don't like looking through a windshield and the aesthetics of most of the aftermarket shields do not appeal to me. I ride with a route 129. I like being in the wind.

If I were you I would not waste my time looking for an OEM unit you most likely
will not find what you want, depending on what you are riding there are several
different BRP Spyders what are you going to put it on? check out the vendors
here that have them for Spyders of all types then decide.

I am the same with you. I look at the after market products, and I am not really interested in the design. I would rather look over it than through it. Yet, I was wondering do you get the Bobble head affect? Do you get exhausted in your upper arms and upper body? I reviewed about others who had the Bobble head affect and their windshields. Most of them were over 5'8, and I am 5'4. I just want to clarify that I am planning to get the F3-S model.

I have a little bit of buffeting at higher speeds but overall I don't mind it. If you don't have a windshield you do have to hang on pretty tight.
Well, I would like to know how tall are you Tommy? For your information, I am 5'5. I think it is different for everyone on the height and the windshield that people get.

Whatever shield you get, the only way you'll get rid of the bobble effect is to add something like this:

Aesthetics and functionality are not intertwine. The same reason you dress for the fall not for the ride.
If you see the old Harley riders riding big-O twins on full squid mode have 24" to 26" windshield. The only way to remove buffeting 100% is to see through the windshield. If you wear a full face helmet and your line of sight is below your screen, rain plus fog with test your sphincter at night.
I once had a collection of windshields for 3 bikes I owned. I finally gave up and almost bought a BMW R1200RT so I could have control of the screen on demand. It is one of those things about the freedom of a motorcycle. The Spyder already solved the balance and reach the ground issue. Now all you have to do is put a gigantic plastic sail in front of you to block all that air which ironically for most, was the very reason they wanted a motorcycle in the first place....

Thank you, but I decided to get the Route 129. I like to have the wind, and feel the freedom of what it is like to ride a motorcycle. I bought the F3-S not for touring, but for my pleasure of feeling that freedom. Eventually, I will upgrade to go for the see through.
I have seen sportsbike rider uses less windshield. I can do the same, by adjusting my feet onto the passenger pegs. It's pretty cool. And, I really don't care what people think.
