• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Windshield.

I went first with the MADSTAD but returned it cause it was too small. I then added the f4 and love it. Everything depends on the weather you ride in. Smaller shields for warmer weather, larger shields for colder weather. My thoughts

Totally agree, this is exactly the question that I am against. I am 5'7"" and I have a naked F3 now. I am a late spring, summer and early fall rider in Arkansas where we can get from 40 to 100 degrees and I ride in most back roads an never on the Interstate. Sometimes I can get to 70 or 75 mph for short periods of time during a ride. I enjoy the wind to cool me down on hot days and I always wear a mesh jacket. Specially if I am riding around town or to work which is a 10 min ride. On cool days I wear a heavier jacket but those rides above 60mph with no windshield are no fun. I hate the wind hitting on my chest, it makes me tired very quickly as I feel that I am fighting against it not to be blown over the bike.
I have been riding for just a year and I have just been looking at the Blue Ridge and even the BRP route 129, but I dont know how much ventilation I will lose. Looks are important too so not sure I like anything that does not look well designed and I dont like those windshields that are too upright either. In summary, I want ventilation for hot days, does not bother too much on cool days because I dont ride much during winter. I want some air to be blocked for those rides over 60mph and I dont like looking through the windshield.
Any recommendations? Please share pictures.
Thanks

No easy answer...

I had the gauge spoiler, lifted up a bit, for a while - loved the looks, kept air off my chest but hit the wrong spot and I got a very sore neck at highway speeds.
Switched to the route 129 and it does the job for me. It does block lots of air (due to width) so not as free-flowing on a hot day.
You could buy two and swap them around?.

How do you like switching the different shields out? Time consuming or rather simple?

Doesn't take long ... Only annoying bit is the two little rubber washers on the 129 - a dab of something to hold them in place solved this.
I dont swap them - sold the gauge spoiler.

Thanks, but I think swapping around is not going to work. I am actually trying to decide between the 129 and the Blue Ridge but you are the first person that makes a good comment about the 129 after shopping around and asking dealers. . I like the windshield and I assume it blocks less air than the Blue Ridge so I think I am getting closer to go for the 129.

So many factors to consider. Keep us posted on which one you decide. Thanks for stopping by.

I have a F4 tinted I will give you a good deal on. It was used very little but has a couple of small scratches around the mounting hole.
Text me at 317 696 2822 and we can talk and I can send you some pics.

Thanks, Bill
