• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Windshield?

I am a new rider (7/15).Thinking about a taller windshield for my 2014 STS-SE5. I am 5'6" and am looking for less wind buffeting and resistance.....any input would be appreciated!

Windshield

I am 5' 10" and also have an ST-S. I had to try various heights to get the best height for me to reduce wind buffeting. My sweet spot is one click below full height. Have you tried different settings on your windshield?

5'4"

At my height, buffeting disappears when screen is at its lowest point. Play around with it a bit maybe?
PS Also depends which helmet I'm wearing!

Taller may not be better!

I don't know why, but the BRP windshields just don't work well. I ended up buying a cal-sci stock height, extra wide and it works great! It has a perfectly positioned vent/opening in the lower portion of the shield to reduce the negative pressure created by the air going over the shield at a rapid speed. I'm 6'-0" and could probably go with a shorter windshield because of how good it works. It is so quiet when the shield is fully up and I never feel the buffeting or turbulence like I did with the BRP wind shield. Even if the shield is down one or two inches, it still is quiet and easy on the head and shoulders. The F4 shields are great too (so I hear), so I recommend not going taller, just getting something better! Check out cal-sci website for some very interesting reading about the science behind the windshields, turbulence, negative pressure, etc. Good luck!

Had CalSci on my GS, Still have it on my RT and Probably will have it on the F3 Once it becomes available.
