There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Taller may not be better!
I don't know why, but the BRP windshields just don't work well. I ended up buying a cal-sci stock height, extra wide and it works great! It has a perfectly positioned vent/opening in the lower portion of the shield to reduce the negative pressure created by the air going over the shield at a rapid speed. I'm 6'-0" and could probably go with a shorter windshield because of how good it works. It is so quiet when the shield is fully up and I never feel the buffeting or turbulence like I did with the BRP wind shield. Even if the shield is down one or two inches, it still is quiet and easy on the head and shoulders. The F4 shields are great too (so I hear), so I recommend not going taller, just getting something better!
