• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just bought a 2015 F3! It was a long ride back from Austin to North Texas. I have never been a fan of riding without a windshield. Feels like getting beat up. I am looking for some recommendations for a larger (width and height) windshield.

I am looking at a Madstad 18". I am 5'9" and do not want my head to be blown backwards. Thanks,

The Madstad is a good screen and has a big plus with its adjustable arms. There is also the F4, with it’s major plus being the fact that it can be cleaned with water and paper towels with no damage.

Be aware (you probably already are) that there is more to it than just your general height to get the right height screen. It’s all about torso height, seat height (my Russell DayLong aftermarket seat lifts me 1.5” higher than stock, so that also needs to be considered. You also need to decide if you want to ride behind the screen or see over the top on your F3. I see you have other two wheelers, so you are most likely already aware of this, but hey;).

F4 screens have a great measuring system on their website for choosing their screen heights that should help in the first instance. There are also other suppliers of course, but F4 and Madstad are pretty common.

I have a Madstad and used their recommended measurements, my height is in my legs so I'm glad I did. Ended up working out great. In addition, I really like the adjustable arms , ended up adjusting the tilt to the way I like it versus the "standard" recommended position.
There's a 2" play in height as well.

I just bought a Gustafson, and I really like it. Their shield is thicker than stock and ome in different tints.
Super nice folks to deal with as well.

I bought the f4 customs. The tallest one it works great had the blue ridge first it was bad blew all the wind directly into my eyes was better with no windshield than that .I am 5 foot 10

Welcome to the forum! I live over in Greenville and we have lots of Ryding to do this weekend. :doorag:

I second the Gustafson, especially if you have the BRP hardware. Not sure if they are making their own mounting hardware yet but their windscreen is excellent and service is great.

Another vote for the Gustafsson. Www.bikescreen.com. They make screens that fit the Blue Ridge hardware and they now have screens for their own mounting hardware. 50 years in the business of making windscreens.CJ JAX

And to keep adding to your confusion, I have the Madstad and do like it. I am 5' 8" and used the Madstad recomended shield height. The only challenge I have with it is that because it is infinitely adjustable and I tend to be a little ADD, I am infinitely trying to find a more perfect position for the shield. I am in Saginaw and like to ride to Muenster for lunch now and then. Perhaps we could meet some day. Although I would prefer temps a little closer to 90F than above 100F :)

Don here at F4 Customs. We make shields from High Optics Polycarbonate and then bake our coatings into them for High Scratch Resistance and Rain Shedding. Our shields clean with paper towels and any glass cleaner. Check us out at www.f4customs.com and here are some video's you might want to watch.
Thanks
