• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Windshield Again

Yup.

There was no melting nor distortion (I was afraid at first, too) but I held the shield horizontally by the lip and let the weight of the rest of the shield bend itself back.
 
cal sci 25"

So I put on the cal sci 25" about a week after buying the spyder, all together a totally diffrent ride now. At 6'4" I am able to look over the top the way I like, have no wind pressure on my chest and don't really notice any bobble head. Still have some wind noise but can tell most of the wind is going just over my head. I personally would not like one any higher because of line of sight, but if I duck down all wind noise disappears... however don't like riding crouched down.:2thumbs:

Do you get or do you notice any wind coming through the hole "vent" in the windshield? Or maybe noise from there? How about bugs? :dontknow:

I don't have a Cal Sci but I do have an EVO II from F1 windshields that has two vents installed in the lower part of the windshield. I wasn't quite sure how they were supposed to direct the air but I imagined that they would direct a nice blast of air through them for comfortable summer riding. However, I felt surprisingly little air coming through them, even at 70 MPH. Not sure if its the same on the Cal Sci or not.
 
I have the Cal Sci and I don't notice any air coming through them at all. I haven't quite figured out just why the cutout is there :dontknow:
 
I have the EVO-III with 2 vents,Don't feel any air coming through. But if they work like the vent on my BMW it keeps it from fogging up. In rainy or high humidity conditions.

At least on the CalSci, the vent is to minimize the turbulence behind the shield.

Hey Spyderjuice, there is some breeze coming through the hole, nuttin bad and no noise from there noticed. Had a similiar "vent" in my Goldwing windshield with a flap to open or close it, never was hit by a bug through it but the calsci has a little less restriction so I'll have to wait till spring to see if any buggies make it through. Wondered bout that one myself. When I was shopping for a larger shield the one thing that sold me on the calsci was their statement that the hole was designed to relieve back pressure from the action of the shield blocking the wind in the first place. This backpressure causes the wind turbulance which contributes to "bobblehead". Seems to be accurate so far.
 
The F1 slider is definately Marcel's best "all purpose" windshield followed by his EVO III.
 
I purchased an adjustable windshield that has a defective upper part. It has so much optical distortion that I can't use it after dark. I have called Marcel July 5 times but my calls are not returned. I have sent him 6 emails with no reply. I need a replacement of the upper part of my windshield that does not have any optical distortion. What do I have to do to have M July replace the defective upper part of my windshield? As of today I do not find Marcel july to be a rsponsible supplier. Arthur Cohen, Ibsen 72, Mexico City 11560
