• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Will a windshield help?

I started with the stock Ryler windshield on my Rally. It was relatively efficient at keeping wind from blowing me off the seat at highway traffic speed. However, it was loud, really loud, even with my earplugs. I switched to a CalSci in the medium height. The CalSci is much quieter, reduces wind on my shoulders, but still provides enough air to stay cool. I have not noticed any significant difference in the size of the CalSci shield on steering. If anything, my handlebar inputs are less influenced by a wind gusts on my shoulders. The CalSci is less sporty and stylish the than the stock but is more functional. At my age sporty and stylish is less important than performance. Further, I have not seen any difference in fuel mileage with the larger screen.
Your Right- The CalSci windshields are known for a quieter cockpit. Had 2 Of them on Spyders and worked Great. I have the MRA Universal windshield cut down to 16 wide by 12 wide at the top - Sport windshield is 16 by 8 wide at top. Its better than stock and attaches to the stock mounting bolts BUT the side winds kill you on a Ryker unless you have something like the CalSci which is 23.5" across the bottom and 18" across at the top. I just do not care for the look so I,m looking at Memphis Shades Del Rio or Big Boy which I can attach to the stock mount($95) BUT come winter if I can't find a better one I will buy the CalSci also!

F4 Customs will be releasing the new Ryker shield in about 2 weeks. It will give much better coverage and looks great. It will also be made with a re-curve so you can run a shorter shield and get good protection.
The F4 Shield is made from high optics polycarbonate, sheds rain, is optically perfect, and is highly scratch resistant like no others.

Can we see some pictures of it at least?

Will this mount to the Ryker stock windshield mount or will it me a separate mount?

I went a rode a friends Ryker yesterday. It had a nice windshield on it that he made. I didn't feel any wind even at 70mph.

I just installed Lamonster's Puig windshield. Works better than the stock windshield and looks good.

Lamonster has been my go-to site for getting Ryker accessories. Is that the tinted one that I see on the website? It doesn't take away visibility?

Can you attach a picture of your Ryker with it on? I only see the up close images on the Lamonster website.

I attached a pic of Lamonster’s Puig windshield. I look over the windshield so the dark smoke is not a factor.

When you are out in the open on 2 or 3 wheels, or even in a convertible, you will get buffeting. A windshield helps tremendously on taking the chest pressure off of you making you less of a sail.

Side winds are one thing that creates buffeting; you can't do anything about that. Helmet buffeting is a different thing. One thing you need to know, and this applies to all motorcycles, the helmet buffeting generally comes from below. The height of the windshield is misleading. Many people put tall windshields on their bike thinking wrongly that wind comes in a straight line. Buffeting comes from the low pressure area behind the windshield which is filled in from below. That turbulence in that low pressure area is what causes the buffeting.

I agree completely with some buffeting coming from underneath, Bob, but can’t agree that the height of the screen makes little difference to helmet buffeting. I replaced a 19” inch screen with the same manufacturer, same model 25” screen (i.e. no changes to lowers, vents, angle etc), which comes to my top lip and helmet buffeting is gone. ;)

When are we going to see an F4 Windshield for the Ryker? The last news I saw was it was going to be released about a month ago.

Anyone have any side view pictures of their Ryker with the Lamonster tinted windshield? Website has front and back pics only. Thanks

waiting on this one.... Any news on when it will be available ?

Windshield will improve rider comfort, guess it might help some with strait line stability (larger windshield probably most stable). Other factors within your control are handlebar play (shouldn’t be any), relaxed but firm grip on handlebars (no rigid “death” grip, tire inflation (don’t over inflate), sway bar (if you can afford one at present), proper wheel alignment, suspension settings (not too soft).

i emailed f4 a few weeks ago and was told they were working on the hardware and would post when it was ready for sale. i however could not wait and bought a calsci sport windshield and what a difference it has made. i really like the way my ryker rides with the windshield.

F4 Customs will have the new Ryker Recurve windshield out in about 4 weeks. Sorry for the delay but we really wanted to get it right.
We will offer clear and tint and it will be wider. We have tested it and its great.

I rode my Rally without a windshield for a bit and found that I had to have the wind deflection. I do not like to wear full face shields or goggles since I already where glasses. If you have a decent wind break then glasses are fine. Unfortunately, the Can Am windshield does not reach high enough for me. Don't get me wrong, it does work and it does deflect some wind from me, but it still hits me in the forehead. Two more inches would probably do it.

I'm about to get a Ryker with a relocated cluster.
Looking for windshield suggestions that won't ruin the sleek look, but will still do the work.
Any ideas?
